MoonBerryl Challenge Results!

Post by DUEL Kheldar »

In the longest spanning challenge match in the history of the sport, in hours anyway, Dizzy Flores did defeat Rakeesh to earn herself another Opal Reign. First match started out in the defenders favor as he jabbed down Diz as she attacked him low, and then quickly fought off another kick with a chop going up two early. After bailing out of a jab the next round, Rakeesh added a third point to his lead when he faked Dizzy into going airborn. He kept up the elusiveness avoiding a jab and a throw attempt to take the first match uninjured.

Dizzy shrugged off the early beating like the veteran she is, and scored first in the second match. Rakeesh hit a spinkick, only to miss a jab and they went into the fourth round 2-1 Diz. They both missed in the fourth, but Rakeesh tied it in the fifth, and took the lead with a successful arial attack in the sixth. Diz wouldn't go down though, battling back to score the final three points of the match and even the series at one a piece.

The third match, fought several days later due to unforseen circumstances, was fought in Styx, the most appropriate ring for the Opal. It started off much less agressively than the first two. Both fighters looked for position in the first round, and then took turns jabbing down the others arial attacks, Rakeesh attempted to go up again in the fourth and Dizzy took the lead at 2-1. Rakeesh swept under Diz's second jump attack, and the sixth round was again spent looking for position. Rakeesh retied the match faking Diz out of her conversion attempt in in the second, but the tie was short lived as his follow up jab was quickly denied and countered putting the match at 3-2 diz. This lead was also short lived as Diz's attempt at a jab. The next exchange put Diz to match point as she proved her arial dominance again, but another countered punch put the match at sudden death, to no one's surprise. The score ran to five all with traded sweeps in the twelfth round. Faced with sudden death again, Rakeesh wound up looking for a defense, but Diz, despite her earlier troubles with the direct approach came in with the good old dependable jab to take the match 6-5. Dizzy becomes the newest holder of MoonBerryl!
