HEAR YE! HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

Last night Karen and Anubis went at it! Woooohoooo!!! Blood! Guts! Gore!!!! We want more!!!! ::drools::

Well, Karen had to do the test thingie first, but I'm ahead of myself here.

Karen challenged Anubis. Anubis said yeah right.

Anubis's Second was Lily Ariskah, in absentia. His Lady of Honor was Dawn Shadowsbane-Karos, in absentia also. He fought under a banner of the Eye of Ra emblazoned with a viper crawling through it.

Karen dueled under the colours of the Knight's Templar, a red cross upon a white field. She dueled for no one's honor but my own, er.. her own! And with no Second.

So Anubis sent this spooky guy called Deathlord with a babbling, annoying sword, to test Karen. At first we thought Karen was not gonna make it. After the fifth round the score was 3-1, with the Deathguy just scoring those three points in a row! Then Karen put on her boots of butt kicking!! Those are the spiky ones with the big horn on the tip... but I digress... and walked all over him to finish the match in ten rounds with a score of 5-3. Well, is no wonder he lost, that stoopid sword wouldn't shut up!! I mean, how annoying is that, to have a sword telling you what to do all the time and... huh? Oh right, the challenge.

Anyway, so Anubis had no choice but to get in the ring with Karen. The match started slow. After the fifth round the score was only 2-1 in favor of Karen. But Karen had not taken off her boots yet, and she did some heaving kicking to finish the match in 8 rounds!

Karen defeats Anubis to become the 61st Overlord of the Duel of Swords!

All Hail the New Overlord!!

This caller heard Karen said that she won't accept any loyal Barons that are not of the faith. This caller also heard Anubis say that he will see Karen again in the rings in a month. So this is not over people!

Don't miss the next Imp-chapter! Same Imp-channel! Same Imp-time! For the conclusion of this Imp-episode! Return of Anubis! Or Anubis Strikes Back!

For the record, I declare myself a Loyal Baron. It is the Overlord's right to overrule this.

Baron Xenograg;

I appriciate yer friendship, but I cannae accept yer loyalty. Me oaths tae th' Order prevent me from accepting loyalty from any thet are nae of the Faith. 'Tis nae slight against ye 'er any other.

As fer th' rest, all Catholics are Christians, same wit th' Protestants, Lutherans an' others. I know o' a few in th' Rings who're of the Faith.

Response from "The Adventurer's Guild"

Post by Rakeesh »

The Adventurer's Guild does not support the mixture of politics and religion that is now occuring.

As a man of zealous religious faith, I commend the courage of Overlady, Karen Wilder in her bold proclaimation that she cannot accept the loyalty of those not of her faith. I will say this however, and I hope she will understand and agree with me. We are both Knights of our Faiths, far from our homelands, where many others share our faith. In this world, we must be tolerant of other people - and NOT alienate others with our beliefs. Surely there are those here who share the Overlady's values and morals, if not her particular religious beliefs. Most of these people would consider themselves loyal to such a courageous Overlady.

I implore Karen Wilder, on behalf of the many who I am sure share my feelings - do not be stern on this matter of political and religious mixing. It will cause more strife and harm here in RhyDin than it will good.

Beyond that, I send my greatest congratulations for your success, and my greatest respect for your courage.

I am no prognosticator, but I do not believe you should worry, as her reign will not last long if she continues to reign with extremist politics.

Extremist Politics? Mixing religion and politics?

All that's going on is that Karen won't accept loyalty from those not of her faith. While I'm not one who would turn away Loyalty, I also don't see how this is going to harm Rhydin in any way.

I mean, come on. Back when Gnimish banished the whole council to renegade, did it harm Rhydin? Nope. When Max was Overlord, did it harm Rhydin? Not really. When Shakira was Overlord, was Rhydin seriously harmed? Not permanently.

And trust me, Shakira was doing a lot more than just refusing to accept Loyalty of Barons.

People and Overlords are free to accept the Loyalties of whomever they wish, for whatever reasons they wish. Sometimes, Loyalty can be bought. Everything has a price. But if someone chooses to stand by their beliefs, then that's something that should be considered positive.

There's absolutely no harm in her refusing a Barons loyalty due to religious belief.

That is all.

I never once said she was not free to do as she wished. It is her crown, after all. However, I said that her hard lined decisions on loyalties will end up alienating powerful allies and will cause her quick fall from power.

Nor did I say it was going to harm the city. I just think it is foolhardy.

When I made my response, it was to both yours, Farek, and Rakeesh's. You didn't say it was going to harm Rhydin, but he did. So I was letting him know, and clearing that up.

Thanks!

I correct and clarify my statement. I believe that the decision harms the community, moreso than the city itself. I certainly prefer our Overlady to the shadier, more sinister figures that have held the title as of late - however, I believe in her mixing of religion and politics, she should be more open-minded and tolerant.

The Adventurer's Guild cannot support a decision or reign that alienates the majority of the Guild, even if I personally admire Karen Wilder's conviction, if not her cause.

Let me be perfectly clear.

This is nae a matter o' me personal choice. This is nae a matter o' me bein' "picky" or prejudiced.

As a Knight-Templar I may not declare loyalty tae, nor accept a declaration o' loyalty from anyone who is nae a Christian o' some type.

This does nae mean I may nae be friends wit' non-Christians. It does nae mean I may nae fight alongside, work with or jest 'ave a drink wit' non-Christians.

Baron Xenograg is a friend. I 'ave fought aside him, worked alongside 'im an' e'en laughed wit' him. However, my Oath tae th' Order must remain foremost in me heart an' me mind.
