Calling all old duelers!
Been around a while...maybe since the beginning? Got any logs of the duels? Post em!
I've been around for about ten years...give or take dead computers, exboyfriends...etc, when I was away for a little while. Alas all old logs I had from the early Power Tools days are gone. I was wondering if anyone still had theirs. Date and time stamp are a plus. It'd be a great read, not to mention adding to the histories.
It's late, I'm bored, and it was an idea.

It's mercy, compassion, and forgiveness I lack. Not rationality.
re: Calling old duelers
I'm older than most, newer than some. I want to say that I first discovered the Red Dragon Inn and Duel of Swords (under a different name, of course around January or February of 1993, so that puts me a little over 11 years.
Falon was Overlord, only the 3rd, loveable little Gloin was still tending bar and calling duels, the never-to-be-rivalled British was calling challenge matches and our very own Xenograg was a fairly new Warlord
Sadly, I don't have any logs...I have long since lost all the old material I once had from that era. But I agree, anyone who has old stuff would be a huge hit!

I have logged everything since my first day in the RDI/DoS, and kept the good stuff. Unfortunately, I had a major data corruption event back in 1997 which lost me almost everything before then. I cannot even prove what my WoL record was when I retired.

Speaking of Xeno's retirement:

I, unfortunately, haven't kept anything over the years either. I know some people can still get in touch with Jona's player. She'd be my bet on who would have a nice chunk of saved logs still floating around.
However, I'm working on archiving (under the History section) the old DoS message boards. It's a slow painful process. I'm up to Oct. of '98 and I suggest you all check it out if you're ever bored. There's also a nifty "search" feature that can help sort through them.

Before I retired from the job of Standings Keeper, I had kept a list of every dueler's records (that I could verify through study of the Standings) at the point they retired. I'm reasonably sure I still have that document, since I dislike just throwing things out.Xenograg wrote:I have logged everything since my first day in the RDI/DoS, and kept the good stuff. I'm also reasonably sure I have all the known saved copies of the Standings... and I remember giving copies to a few other people.

I was also a DoS Standings Keeper (until I got fired by Kairee). All of those records were lost in my data corruption. Yes, I said fired!
Thank you for the archive link, Rory. :: remembers the retirement party with fondness ::
