What I never understand about Red Sox fans is the fact that they spend so much energy rooting against another (superior) team, even when their (cursed) team isn't playing. Don't you guys just enjoy the game and your own team? Maybe if you're feeling sore about the Yankees a viewing of "No, No Nanette" might lift your spirits -- definitely a worthwhile investment of money from trading Babe Ruth.

::snickering:: I'm saying this all in good fun. There will never be a way for Yankees and Red Sox fans to persuade each other to the other side of the argument. And I know there are people who hate baseball all together. I know all this but I have to represent any time the Yankees, and indirectly my baby's daddy Jorge Posada, are in the least bit slighted.

Go Jays! :p I don't care if the victims are the Red Sox or the Yankees, just as long as Toronto gets the wild card. All Delgado and Wells have to do is combine for 150 homers and 400 RBI and Halladay just needs 25-30 wins. It could happen.

During the summer I...

... Pray the tempature won't hit 110+.

... Pray the tempature won't hit 120+ (this is usually late summer though).

... Pray we'll go on another trip to Japan.

... Help my fiance recover from the Spring Faire Season and prepare for the Fall Faire Season.

I was born a Yankee fan and will die a Yankee fan and until then will continue to enjoy laughing at and making money off my Red Sox loving fan friends. My first major league sporting event my dad took me to a Yankees game versus the Red Sox when I was 4 years old. I don't even like baseball much anymore, I play various fantasy leagues, but don't even bother with baseball. I'll go to a game to hangout, but watching it on TV is like watching golf on TV, I a real snoozer.

It amazing how sports rivalries are different in different sports and among different teams. With the Yankees-Red Sox situation, its pure hatred. Like Kara said, nothing will ever make one fan respect the other fan in regards to their team regardless of the circumstances involved. In the NHL, the Avalanche-Red Wings rivalry has had some bitter moments, but fans actually respect each other and the rival team. Most fans of both those teams look forward to when the Av-Wings play because they know the quality of the game will go up from other regular season games. Yeah, they still talk smack and want the bragging rights, but they also give credit where it is due in the right circumstances.

I have to say that I agree, the ocean rocks. For all the reasons that was said, the ocean rocks. I haven't seen ocean in almost 3 years since I left NC. However, I will have to say for all the similar reasons that the Rocky Mountains rock just as much as the ocean. I could wonder the mountains all day and listen to the sounds of the wild as much of a relaxer as listening to waves.

Nature hurts me. I do the same things during the summer that I do during the winter. Mostly sit around, read stuff, and watch dueling go by for a few hours a night. Feh.

Two things I'll cover here:

First is that I agree that the ocean kicks butt. Having grown up in New Bedford, MA, the ocean's a really big thing for me. For those of you who still have no idea where it is, read Moby Dick and you'll get the idea. I grew up about a mile from the ocean and even though I'm living up in the mountains now, my heart still picks the ocean as better. Can't really say why though. Just some intangible thing about being out on the waves in a boat, smelling the salt air, and hearing the gulls fly overhead.

Secondly, concerning the Sox. Damon's haircut can be best described as Don Orsillo put it the other night- "The passion of the center fielder". As much as growing up as close to Boston as I have has poisoned my logical mind, I will say this about them cursed Yanks- They do what it takes to win. For that, I have a lot of repsect. Still doesn't mean I like them ;P So when I'm sitting down next to Pesky's Pole at the end of September to see the two play, I'll be cheering for the Sox with every other breath, and cursing the Yankees with the other half!

Hmmm last summer I was in Italy for 10 days. Too bad I can't be there again.
