Lord Karos,

Since the loyal wall is currently down, I can finally make good on my word from the other cork thread. This isn't a personal matter to me. While is true that my murderous cousin was resurrected at your hands, it is also true that your captivity on her soul due to her duplicity is preventing her from wreaking more havoc on this world than she could be. So I consider that a wash.

Thus, for me, this is just about one thing, and it's exactly what I said in the other thread. I want to see which steel is stronger: the steel that waits in the shadows whilst demeaning the efforts of others, or the steel that communally and continuously sharpens itself and its peers.

I use the King's Decree to challenge for the mantle.

It is tragicomic that you believe that I would manipulate the political milieu of the Arena just to avoid you. I'm going to teach you a lesson in due humility.

I have been silent on the matter of your cousin. However, I was not quite subtle in my actions against her, so now I will clear the air. Whatever her parochial grudge with you, I was happy to assist. The scales of Duat require some semblance of balance, even if I confess to preferring a tilt towards the amoral. Those who are self-righteous enough to try and destroy all they see as evil--all they simply disagree with-- are pests who need to be disabused of their megalomania.

But so too are the depraved and insane with no standards, those who would break any rule and would destroy without rhyme or reason. As my father once told me before he sojourned to do battle with the abomination Apophis...you cannot possess what is shattered into pieces, and you cannot rule a destroyed world. Even darkness must have its own order. She used the child as a pawn when I forbade it, when there was a thousand other options to draw you to the battlefield. Break my rules and pay the price.

And now that *that* unpleasantness is complete, challenge accepted.

Before we could begin the third and final match, however, the Arena lost power and so the Overlord Challenge will continue in the Arena tomorrow, per the agreement of all parties, at 10:00 ET.

((OOC: the Nexus Guide missed posting round 5 of the first match, so I posted it... and then it stopped again with round 3 of the second match. It was still processing moves, just not posting, but after three rounds in a row I said I would hand-call the rest of the challenge. Then before we could start the third match, one of the duelists lost power and had almost no phone charge. So we rescheduled for tomorrow to finish it.))
