Hi, everyone. I haven’t written or played here in a while, but I wanted to let you all know that the player behind Marek Kharune passed away recently. His family and friends knew him as Matt.

Matt was the player behind countless characters at various FFRP communities over the last 25 years or so. Some of his favorite venues included the Mermaids Tale Tavern, Crosswinds Tavern, Red Dragon Inn, and Stars End Spaceport. He served as an AOL Community Leader at the Games Channel back in the day, hosting in a couple of different FFRP communities.

I believe Marek Kharune was his most recent character here at RoH. Previously, he hosted as RDI Dex at the RDI. He was also known as Mordred Anubis at the CWT and Zev Zayveon at the RDI, among many, many others.

He truly loved the RP community and loved meeting and interacting with people. There was no limit to his creativity and imagination, and he enjoyed playing all kinds of characters, from cowboys to necromancers and everything in between. There was no genre he wasn’t willing to try, but he was especially fond of science-fiction, especially Star Wars, and much of his RP was done at the Spaceport.

Matt was not as active in the community these last few years as he had been struggling with health issues. I don’t want to go into too many details, but just wanted to pass this along for those who knew him. His sense of humor, creativity, and most of all his friendship will be greatly missed.

I do not have the words to express all I’m feeling or all he meant to me as a friend. As they say, there’s another angel in heaven. Miss you, buddy.
