Eregor, it appears that those aloof deities who weave the skein of fate are particularly insistent about us meeting in the challenge ring. Obsessed, almost. And particular enough about the matter that even the detail about the tournament prize must be repeated.

So be it. Let us close the old year with the promise of violence to open the new one. I hereby challenge you for the mantle.

The scent of old man may have just been Matt Simon passing through, looking for a fight. I've never noticed him to smell of age, though, and anyway that can't explain the tapioca.

In a match that would have taken place if not for Anubis' inactivity causing him to lose the title, it was his turn to challenge Eregor for the title. And like Eregor, he too used the Overlord challenge grant from the most recent all ranks tournament. This duel did take place, and the Overlord chose a single duel format. Eregor seemed in command as he opened up a 3-0 lead after three rounds, but Anubis matched him and tied it at 3 after six rounds. From there both traded and we went well into sudden death before Anubis' timely duck had him evading Eregor's cut, and once more becoming Overlord.

I was there the night you won the belt from former Overlord, Eregor. You probably didn't notice because, despite any rumors to the contrary, I was being extremely inconspicuous. I refrained from stating my allegiances that evening, because I was getting hungry, and was supposed to meet up with Abby for pizza, and ice cream. You probably remember her, she's the red headed aunt of Maggie, and was the 129th holder of Overlord Island. Now that I've managed to have some time to contemplate the situation, let me be Nikolai. I never liked the name Frank.
