Trick or Treat at the Arena!

Post by Alasdair Galloway »

Halloween this year falls on Thursday, October 31, and the Arena is celebrating! Be sure to swing by before or after you hit up Pachinko Palace!

Reginald, GumYum, and even Otto Kollar will all be ready to pass out candy and other treats to any who ask. Though we recommend you come in costume, since the Arena will award a prize to lucky costume-wearer at the end of the night!

And be sure to visit the Wolves Den Bistro for our Spooky Specials!

Drinks:
  • Vampire’s Kiss Martini: Cranberry juice, vodka, raspberry liqueur, and a splash of grenadine.
  • Black Magic Margarita: Tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and activated charcoal for the black color.
  • Zombie Brain Shot: Peach schnapps, Irish cream, and a splash of grenadine.
  • Ghostly White Russian: Vodka, coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa), and heavy cream.
  • Blood Orange Mimosa: Champagne, blood orange juice, and a dash of orange liqueur.
  • Poison Apple Cocktail: Apple cider, dark rum, and a splash of pomegranate juice for color.
  • Eyeball Martini: Gin or vodka, dry vermouth, and a lychee “eyeball” (stuff a lychee with a blueberry).
  • Monster Slime Smoothie: Spinach, bananas, pineapple juice, and coconut milk.
Food:
  • Jack-o'-Lantern Stuffed Peppers: Orange bell peppers, rice, meat, black beans, cheese.
  • Mummy Meatballs: Meatballs, puff pastry, marinara sauce.
  • Spider Web Pizza: Pizza dough, marinara, mozzarella cheese, olives (for spiders).
  • Bat Wings (Chicken Wings): Chicken wings, soy sauce, honey, and food-grade activated charcoal.
  • Monster Sliders: Beef or veggie patties, mini buns, cheese, pickles, olives.
  • Zombie Brain Pâté: Chicken liver pâté or a vegetarian mushroom pâté.
  • Deviled Egg Spiders: Eggs, mayo, mustard, paprika, black olives.
(( Please post your costumes in this thread to be entered into the contest for the grand prize. You do not have to play in the Arena on 10/31 to be eligible for the prize, but feel free to show up if you can! The cutoff for eligibility by posting a costume in this thread will be 11:59pm eastern on 11/1/24. Winner will be announced on 11/2. The winner will be drawn by dice roll with number 1 equaling the first person to post their costume in this thread, number 2 being the second, and so on.

The winner will have their choice of either 5 wins added to their record, a Baronial challenge grant, or designing a prize to be given away at the next All-Ranks Tournament. ))

A gold-masked Sheik and his gold-masked Lady, both in black and gold finery, were present for the Trick or Treat event at the Arena. The Lady was there to indulge in a duel or more while the Sheik spectated from one of the skyboxes.

Though it may not have been obvious off the bat (she couldn't find a deerstalker cap to save her life), Dakota dressed as one of the only private investigators on par with herself: Sherlock Holmes! She was also fortunate to be accompanied by her own Watson.

Dris and Rhys came as the famously gay duo Frog and Toad. Complete with the tandem bicycle.

Having no idea what Halloween really was or that dressing in costume wasn't code word for ritualistic robes and sacrifice, Fae relied on the company she keeps and the internet to show her what a nurse costume should apparently look like for a woman.

Szuzak came prepared for a spooky vampire outfit. He had been looking forward to the occasion and had no other choice than to play it close to the vest.

One (1) Watson-named-Em was as much date as accessory (she was okay with this) to the fabulous Holmes, and did a mostly terrible job at being stoic while also quick to admit she was, indeed, the muscle.

After spending some time enjoying the haunt and horror movies at Pachinko Palace, Gatito and his friend and café manager, Zariyah, dropped by the Arena to enjoy the company of the duelists, as well as some of the cocktails and savory treats offered by the Wolves Den Bistro. They were dressed as genderbent versions of Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz.

Thoroughly wasted before he even got to try the fancy drinks on the menu, Jake made his way out to get his own prescription of free food filled at the Wolves Den Bistro after a little fighting fun with his fellow medical practitioner.

Doran showed up for a few matches dressed as humble "cowboy" Spike Spiegel.

Ebon, meanwhile, emerged from the Arena offices dressed as a Dread Pirate Roberts!

To be specific, he was handing out business cards identifying himself.
