The powers that be seek equilibrium and to accomplish this, a trial shall be held. For the duration of two weeks beginning Sunday May 12th, spellcasters may submit proof of their mettle upon this very cork. Upon conclusion of the trial on the dawn of the 26th day of May, a new Keeper will be named and finalized before the standings update. You must be your own advocate, for in order to be deemed worthy of the Keepership, you must stand on your own two feet and earn it without the assistance of kith nor kin.
The tasks you may undertake to prove yourself are as follows:
The Flawless Victory (3 points): Win a duel 5.5-0 in 6 rounds
The Perfect Victory (4 points): Win a duel 5-0 in 5 rounds
The Coordinated Effort (7 points): Defeat Matt Simon or Claire Gallows by at least 3 points in a Duel of Magic duel
The Hard Lesson (3 points): Lose a duel to your mentor as a Neophyte
The Sage (1 point): Present proof that you mentor a Neophyte (as shown on the standings) and they have logged at least 1 match during the trial (this task may be redeemed once
The Dedicated (10 points): Win a Duel of Magic duel every day for 7 consecutive days
The Unstoppable (15 points): Win a Duel of Magic duel every day for 7 consecutive days and go undefeated
The Brick in the Arch (1 point): Win a Duel of Magic duel against the Archmage (Rachael Blackthorne)
The Golden Arches (10 points): Win 10 duels against the Archmage (points can stack with “The Brick in the Arch”)
The Shadow Mage (2 points): Fight to a 15 round Duel of Magic tie
The Wall of Force (6 points): Successfully use Armor, Shield, Foul Fog, and Displacement twice each and win the duel
The Rookie (2 points): Win a duel against the Archmage as an Apprentice
The Blammity (4 points): Win a Magic duel using nothing but offense
The Tortoise (4 points): Win a Magic duel using nothing but defense (AR, SH, DS, FF, GF, RF, IM)
The Mirror, Mirror (5 points): Reflect both a Mage Bolt and a Mind Whip and win the duel
The Demeritus (15 points): Win 10 Magic duels against opponents ranked Mage Emeritus
The Close Cutter (2 points): Win a DoM duel in the 15th round
The Comeback Royal (5 points): Win a DoM duel after being down at least 4-0
The Scratchless (5 points): Defeat the Current Archmage, 5-0 or better
The Bully (4 points): Defeat an Apprentice as a top-ranked dueler (Archmage, Keeper, Mage Emeritus, Mage) without using any focii
The Speed Demon (6 points): Win a Duel of Magic duel in less than 5 rounds
Additional time bound tasks on certain dates will afford their conquerors bonus points, further incentivizing purposeful spellwork in your duels.
May 13th: Happy Birthday Claire - Win a duel in the 13th round (7 points)
May 14th: Mid-May Taco Tuesday - Successfully land the most Foul Fogs in the night (10 points)
May 17th: Friday Night Twilight - Win the most matches without using any foci (10 points)
May 21st: Twenty-One Gun Salute - Successfully land the most Mage Bolts in the night (10 points)
May 24th: The Final Friday Push - Log the most DoM matches in the night (15 points)
May 25th: Honoring Matt - Attend the DoF All Ranks Tournament as a spectator (5 points), or as a fighter (7 points), or win the DoF ART (10 points)
