Challenge for Overlord

I am taking advantage of the recent ART's Overlord Challenge Grant and challenging for the title.

This challenge happened tonight and it was soooooooo exciting!

The Challenger tonight was Matt Simon who came by the opportunity via the All Ranks Tournament Challenge Grant! That made this a test-free challenge. Matt fought under a banner of black and yellow. He had no second, and his persons of honor were Koy, Thia, and Malachite.

Looking for his first defense tonight was Overlord Anubis Karos! He fought under his banner -- a black background with an Eye of Ra, with a cobra threading through it. Overlord Anubis had no second, and his Lady of Honor was Tetra Aemelia Senscion, in absentia.

Anubis opted to settle this challenge in a single fight.

Wielding twin daggers, the Overlord got off to an early and aggressive start, hitting twice and picking up two points in quick consecutive rounds. But Matt just needed to warm up, quickly tying things back up in the next two rounds. Once tied, the fighters started looking pretty cautious. There were several rounds of stalemate, but in the eighth round, both fighters finally decided to get aggressive with a direct exchange of blows. The score went up but the tie remained! Anubis kept up his attack, but Matt seemed to read the move well, perfectly positioning his defense. The well placed move took the challenger to match point! Anubis marshalled his power for one more strike, but Matt was ready for it and managed to pick up the final point!

FINAL: Goldglo def. Anubis Karos, 5 - 3 in 10 rounds.

Well-reigned, Anubis! A noble performance as always!

Major congratulations to Matt Simon who, with this win, not only becomes the new Overlord, but also becomes the third DiArchLord, holding all three highest titles in all sports at the same time.
