Mentor/Neophyte Question
If someone's mentor is no longer on the standings, do they automatically lose their standing as a neophyte or is there some kind of grace period involved in case the mentor returns?
Re: Mentor/Neophyte Question
I have spoken to Collie privately about this, checking for clarification, but wanted to be sure to respond here in the case that anyone else holds a similar concern.
The neophyte does not lose their standing as a neophyte if their mentor falls inactive.
If a neophyte becomes inactive and a mentor wishes to take on a different (active) neophyte, then the standings keeper needs to be informed that the mentor wishes to drop the first neophyte and the mentor must post in this thread that they will be taking on the new neophyte. There are no penalties for dropping a neophyte, and a mentor may post the dropping in the thread, but that is not required. Taking on a new neophyte is required to be posted however.
A reminder that a neophyte may also ask to be dropped from their neophyte status if they so wish, and there is no penalty for this either.
