Come on down to the Red Dragon Inn next Saturday, November 18 to partake in Armsgiving, celebrating the giving and receiving of arms! Are you a hunter in need of silvered weapons to battle creatures of the night? Perhaps you prefer a more elegant approach to dueling, favoring the lunge and riposte of a rapier? Or are you looking for something of a more mystical nature?
Heph, master smith of Lemnos Craftworks, will be arriving at 8 p.m. with a selection of weapons to suit most any fighting style or need, ready to exchange for those you no longer need, that they might serve others in good stead. Others who have a surplus of weaponry or enchanted items of note are welcome to contribute to the evening's selection!
Tenball will be slinging drinks for the evening, with a selection of dueling-inspired cocktails in celebration of Dueler Appreciation Week!
((Many thanks to Karma and Ettyn for organizing Armsgiving in years past! Though the live event starts at 8 ET, the in-character would start earlier. So if you can't make it Saturday evening, feel free to post below to tell of how your character found the perfect item!))

Re: Armsgiving 2023!
Ettyn had been a devotee of Armsgiving since its founding, and made her usual offering of an enchanted weapon:
Doomsward, a long scimitar whose origin is obscure. Recovered from a defiled necropolis in the Great Desert, this sword is heavy in the hand but cuts the hardest against summoned entities, whether undead or extraplanar. If one can learn the right steps from the inscription on the flat edge - Primordial words revealed only by moonlight - the wielder may banish the target they strike (or its spirit) to their plane of origin. The silver in the leading edge comes from the Far Realm, striated by Astral magic, and may be githyanki-made.
There is some risk that a banishing portal may pull the wielder through as well if they do not mind their feet. Based on the signs, Ettyn believes this happened to the blade's previous owner.

Re: Armsgiving 2023!
There were other donations of note:
From Mairead Harker, two pairs of swords, each one imbued with winter magic:
- one claimed ny Fara for Whiskers
From an anonymous donor, a pair of twin handscythes that hold a dark energy, and are coated in a powerful neurotoxin. Holding them allows the wielder to speak and understand the Abyssal language without ill edffects.
- Claimed by Ettyn
From Sal Delahada, a gun. Given its donor, this hand-cannon may have any number of properties, or it may be purely mundane, but still deadly.
- claimed by Doran
From Gatito, a handaxe engraved with the stylings of a dragon. The axe's origins are unknown; Gatito found it during one of his excursions out in the Wilds, took it home, and cleaned it up. There may be a hint of magic to it, hinting at other properties or powers.
From Ambrosia Lark, a sword-handled frying pan, perfectly weighted for swinging, and a huller for coring fruits. Or eyeballs.
- claimed by Maggie
From Kruger, delivered by Nikolai, the axe Stormfront. Its wielder can summon gusts of wind that bring a line of dark clouds laden with thunder and lightning. The axe's edge crackles with lightning when it's swung.
From Koyliak, the blade Ragged Root. Properties unknown, but gorgeous!
- claimed by Gatito
All unclaimed weapons, including those not listed above, will be available with Heph at Lemnos Craftworks, locations in Old Market and Twilight Market on the Isle, in exchange for donations to the RhyDin Food Depository.
