Spike's Landing Boatside Trick or Treat Party

[Hyejin Ri]

On Sunday October29 Spike's Landing Marina will host a Halloween party and trick or treating beginning at sunset and a party beginning at 9PM. All of the available houseboats for lease are decorated for the season and well stocked with treats. The Marina Bait shop is decorated as well, with some help from Eunji, and will be equipped with bountiful bowls of eerie green special seasonal punch and pumpkin theme sweets. Join the Ri sisters for a night of scares and dancing and revelry under the watchful eye of the great Spike Statue!

Hye-jin and Yuri will be arriving early to ensure that there are plenty of Jack-o'-lantern lamps to keep any spirits that might be roaming out of the wilds well at bay from the partygoers! In addition, all guests get a special gift set to commemorate the grand party, including a special Halloween themed orange Spike's Landing cooler and insulated beverage container!

Yuri went with a Disney Villain theme for the evening and chose Cruella de Vil.

[Hyejin Ri]

Hye-jin found a witch costume at the Village/Vanguard store in time for the party. She danced with Yuri at the bait shop, and teased that she was going to put a spell on her.

[Eunji Park]

Of course Eunji was at the Marina to hand out candies early, and in time to do some cooking. Halloween themed cupcakes and cookies made a festive spread on tables at the front of the Bait Shop. She was also ready to cast a spell, in her wizard costume.

Hee-jin was with her, and with some help from Eunji got together a quick and expedient costume to amuse the Marina guests.

Several people involved with the Rhydin Big Siblings Program, including Maggie and her cousin, Limelenath, arrived to join in the Halloween fun. Costumes ranged from Vikings to Oogie Boogie from Nightmare before Christmas. Some of the youngsters, supervised by adults, would be having an overnight on houseboats rented for the occasion. For those that wanted to listen, some spooky tales would be told!

[Josette Wheeler]

Josie attended as Cher from Clueless. She adored taking her time admiring all the beautiful decorations, lights and especially the little dog dressed as a pirate with his pumpkin! She had a little too much punch, so she accidentally turned and walked straight into one of the decorative spider webs and started to try to delicately remove herself without flailing and ruining the effect.

In true Cher form, she giggled as she flung a piece of web from her fingers. “Ew! Get off of me! Ugh As If!”

Her spirits brightened after finding the delicious cupcakes to partake in before dancing the night away. When the time came, she settled in for the spooky and mysterious stories of the lake, eyeing the water on occasion and silently wondering if a few creatures of the deep were listening too.
