It is with a heavy heart that I write this missive, finding myself in the throes of unprecedented circumstances. As you are no doubt aware, I have been tragically unseated from my Imperial throne by none other than my own progeny. Consequently, the quest to reclaim my rightful station is intrinsically tied to the distinguished title of Overlord. I made a solemn pledge to this noble community that I would bide my time, opting to engage in the revered duel until such time as my victories therein outshone those of any other active participant. I am proud to announce that this moment has arrived, and the margin of my triumphs is anything but trivial.

In light of the dire straits my Empire now finds itself in, you graciously proposed to renounce the customary grace period in order to hasten our impending duel. For this, I express my sincerest gratitude. However, it has become abundantly clear that urgency is of the utmost importance in this grave situation.

A distressing development has added fuel to the fire of my determination. Jewell Ravenlock, a figure of significant importance, has been seized by my son. Her cherished liberty is now being used as a bargaining chip, to be exchanged only for my capitulation.

Thus, the moment to act has descended upon us. It is imperative that I ascend to the role of Overlord, garnering not only the trust and respect of the populace but also honing the essential skills needed to ultimately confront my son. It is through this inevitable one-on-one battle that I intend to liberate Jewell and recover my Empire.

Therefore, consider this letter as my formal declaration of intent. I hereby challenge you for the eminent title of Overlord, a duel that I hope will solidify my fate and secure my path towards reclaiming what was unjustly taken from me. I beseech you to uphold your generous offer of waiving the grace period, as per the conventions of our honorable sport.

Your tenure as Overlord appears to be marked by dignity and merit. I eagerly anticipate our forthcoming competition and the challenge it undoubtedly presents.

A typed notice was posted late in the afternoon of the 30th:

The Overlord Challenge between Reign and Lupton will conclude on Wednesday the 31st at 730 PM by the Eastern Clock.

This challenge match turned into a two night affair as the best of three had a second match for the ages!

The two met, and Reign opted for a best of three challenge. After a close first match which the Overlord came back to win, the second went an astonishing 24 rounds, which had a comeback from Lupton this time, and traded leads, and a lot of drama and bloodshed late into the night. It was agreed to give the two duelers (and audience) a rest before the third match, which took place tonight.

The final duel had no comebacks or traded leads, as after two scoreless rounds, the Overlord took command and scored five unanswered points in a row to win a shutout match, and retain her title.

Congratulations to Reign, and well-attempted to Lupton!
