The 2023 Magical, Musical Masquerade Ball
The citizens of Rhy'Din are cordially invited to attend the Governor's Ball this coming Saturday, April 1st starting at 8:00 PM by the Rhy'Din Clock (Eastern Time). Recommended style of dress is ballroom formal with a corresponding masquerade mask, but it is by no means a requirement of attendance. A large selection of loaner masks will be made available to anyone who may have neglected to bring their own, should they wish to participate with the theme.
On this evening, catch a portal directly to the perpetually temperate climate of Twilight Isle and take a winding, magical carriage ride around the lagoon, across the bridge to the legendary party central property of #11. Guests will be welcomed through the main doors into the grand foyer or great room, which this night has been transformed into an elegant ballroom. Immediately to the left will be a coat check, where personal items will be safely stored away in securely guarded rooms near the garage. Absolutely no weapons will be permitted on the property, and security personnel will be searching every arrival at the door. Guests will be given a ticket with a number corresponding to their belongings so that they may pick them up on the way out.
A talented DJ will be stationed at the top of the stairs, barring access to any of the second level rooms, with the exception of a few regular guests that security personnel know well. Any guests seeking a more relaxing and secluded atmosphere will be directed downstairs into the rooms of the mansion's basement level. Here can be found the game rooms, spa, and grotto. Private changing areas will be open to the public. Guests are encouraged and welcomed to bring their own swimwear, but there will be apparel available to anyone who may have forgotten. These suits are brand new and have never been worn before. Consider them the Governor's gift to you!
A fully decorated spread of refreshments will be found in the dining room, but easily identified and uniformed wait staff (NPCs) will also be roaming the ballroom floor with trays throughout the evening. See the corresponding menu for more details. A fully stocked, open bar (tips encouraged) is located in the adjoining lounge that connects to the quieter courtyard. The greater outdoors of the property will be open to all guests, where one may take a stroll around the plush lawn or dip their toes in the lagoon should they not feel up to dancing.
As the name of the event implies, one should fully expect to encounter Governor Driscol randomly breaking out into showtunes, occasionally enacting some stage magic, and otherwise indulging requests for a dance. There will also be plenty of opportunities for photos and autographs, as well as potential encounters with a roaming wolfhound and setter (NPCs). Come on out and dance the night away in style, with Governor Driscol on Twilight Isle!

The live portion of the event will begin at 8:00 PM Eastern Time in the #gloaming-district channel on the Rings of Discord server and will run until the last person logs out. Participants are encouraged to post their attendance to this thread whether they can make the live event or not. Feel free to say your character was there by showing us their outfits and maybe writing a little thing or two about how they spent their evening. Absolutely everyone is welcome to take part.
