It only took little more than thirty minutes for one of her handmaidens to pin a response to the Outback message board.

Your wants or needs matter little to me and I care not for any reasoning
What I desire is satisfaction in combat and that alone
Should this want or need of yours be the catalyst of your own desire to defeat me

If defeated I will consider it enough
If triumphant I will be still left with the emptiness of a fleeting conflict done and gone

It was a quiet Saturday night when Nero and Nayun stepped into the Outback to decide the fate of FireStar. I was there to bear witness and supply commentary for not just the sporters in the ring, but those keeping watch on the proceedings alongside me. And let me tell you, it was a challenge to remember.

In our first bout, attrition was the name of the game. A quick step into a two-point lead was quickly brought to a tie, and after that a fierce back-and-forth took us to the eleventh round in triple-sudden-death, at which point Nero slipped in a swift kick to take the first bout!

Our second bout took place in the Pond, where Nero tried to wash away a little of the battering he’d taken in the first. It was to no avail, however, as Nayun quickly punished his fatigue by taking a commanding three point lead! After Nero had brought it back to a single point lead, Nayun reached match point, and Nero would take one more point before the Opal took the final point and second bout for herself!

The third bout was a lesson in patience and care, as Nero began to measure his moves and take a more defensive posture. No doubt the fatigue of the night had caught up to him by now, but it proved to be his salvation as Nayun’s first point was all she took, leaving Nero to climb to match point and victory in the bout, securing him the challenge and FireStar itself!
