A Fiery Samhain And Candy Day (Halloween) Celebration!

Post by Rachael Blackthorne »

Fire Keeper Rachael Blackthorne, her husband Ian, and their family wish to extend the hospitality of the grounds of the Fire Tower to the public for a celebration of both Samhain and Candy Day (Halloween).

This celebration will take place from 9:00 AM – 2:00 AM on both Monday, October 31st and Tuesday, November 1st.

It is up to the guests to supervise any children that accompany them to this event.

((Notes: This is a board only event to be used or not as people see fit. This celebration is designed to be a non-violent event. All characters and players are welcome to participate. Feel free to refer to participation in live play. The Fire Tower itself is off limits for the duration of this event. If you have any questions, please PM or DM Rachael Blackthorne.))

Upholding a Samhain tradition, a bonfire will be lit on the Tower grounds for protection against evil spirits and mischievous fairies.

Vegetable and pork and apple stews and plain grilled cheese sandwiches, each sandwich served with tomato soup, will be offered complimentarily to the guests.

Beverages will be also offered complimentarily to the guests, including apple cider (plain and alcoholic) along with a festive punch for the season in both alcoholic (Halloween Sangria Punch) and non-alcoholic (Melted Witch) varieties.

Fire Elementals will be on hand at various points on the Tower grounds to gift any Trick or Treaters with treats, including decorated cookies, cupcakes, and holiday candies, which are age appropriate.

Festive containers will be provided to hold the treats for the guests.

"We should've brought the twins!" the girl middle school aged girl proclaimed as she took in the sights of her surroundings — and of course was quick to thank a fire elemental when claiming a bucket for herself.

Cecilia was about to say why that would be a bad idea to bring the large white tiger twins, but the hand of Jasmina met her shoulder. Cecilia watched her shake her head and then decided it wasn't wasn't worth raining on her sisters parade; after all, she seemed to have already been focused on the snacks and sweets. The half-sylvan made sure to grab the two of them a pair of Halloween Sangria Punch as they settled in to escort her sister about the celebration.

Excited to celebrate the thinning of the veil and enough the bonfires to ward off mischievous spirits and the like, Max was sure to prompt Alasdair to join her to visit the Tower of Fire grounds on Halloween night. It didn’t take much convincing Alasdair to put on a monkey costume, and even less so when Max showed him her “matching costume” as a banana. Snickering at her own monkey and banana puns the whole walk to the Tower of Fire, the pair was seen bringing a few plates of paw print cookies to share (with the reassuring promise to Rachael that no surprises or chocolate were in the decorated cookies).

Making sure to stop and visit with all the kittens, Max would also get Alasdair and anyone who wished, to pose for selfies with her among the festive grounds. Enjoying warm grilled cheeses and some melted witch punch, the couple stayed till Rachael’s grand kittens were likely conked out asleep, making sure to say goodnight to the Hostess and her husband before returning home.

The Harker family, including Albert Hall, arrived with the four Túr Gairdín children to join in the festivities. Still in her Annie Oakley costume, Maggie arrived later than the others as she had been in Cadentia, where her Uncle Eregor and Aunt Rhi opted to take advantage of the overnight accommodations.

Maggie kept an eye on Brian as he joined Mayflower, Tux, and Pepper to see if Great Pumpkin would be arriving. They were not disappointed! Gale, who had celebrated her first birthday in July, was curious enough to join the group, but fell asleep before she was able to see the mythic being appear. Rick and Catie, both teenagers, spent their time with their younger cousins and the Katz kittens.

Rhiannon and Dennis chatted with the adults and enjoyed the food spread while Bertie tried to charm a fire elemental!
