City Wide Birthday Party!!
As soon as the early morning of October 3rd, RhyDin celebrated a birthday party. Whose birthday? Nobody knew for sure, but it was definitely someone's or something’s birthday. Locations throughout the city and beyond made that clear, with cake, shakes, party hats, and other goodies popping up. Posters and holonet messages list the following festivities:
Golden Perch Inn: At everyone’s favorite Trivia Hot Spot, cupcake stands have been set up on each of the tables. Each cupcake comes topped with a tiny rolled up scroll with a vague (but typically well wishing) fortune scrawled upon it. At the bar sits stacks of party hats in various colors. Someone has even decorated the Mermaid Fountain out front with a hat of its own.
The Solarium: Floral arrangements, chest pins and wristlets in a rainbow of colors with birthday ribbons are available to those entering the greenhouse in Old Temple. Large floral sculptures are also on display as one wanders the paths throughout the botanical gardens, all shaped in large presents, cakes and even balloons!
Orktoberfest in Battlefield Park: A generous benefactor has paid admission to all through the weekend, including unlimited rides on the Warg Carousel. A giant pinata in the shape of a goblin has been set up near the beer tents for children and beer drinkers alike to take a whack at it. Each person gets three swings and any time the pinata is busted open, it is replaced with a new one full of sweets and Orktoberfest coupons good for the entirety of the festival’s duration.
The Red Dragon Inn: A massive sheet cake, with colored frosting showing an image of the hearth with the mounted dragon head looming over it! The cake itself was placed on the bar, underneath the... mounted dragon head looming over it. It seemed to be endless, and staff was on hand for those wanting a piece. The cake takes on a number of flavors but most typically people report it turning out to be their favorite flavor. Much like many things in the Red Dragon, it doesn’t diminish either, no matter how much is taken from it.
The Streets of Rhydin: Vendors and food trucks offer passersby multi-colored cake pops and goodie bags stocked with noise makers and candy. A number of businesses* also claim to carry their own celebration goodies.
The Underground: Mysterious birthday lights have been hung along the labyrinth of tunnels that make up the spiderlike web of pathways underneath the city. Some in the shape of candles, party hats and even slivers of cake, while others are simple flickering fairy lights there to light the pathway for even the creatures that bump in the night roaming beneath the city.
Uptown: Golden sparklers and top shelf birthday cake martinis were passed out to the rich and social elite who were out on the streets in this upscale neighborhood, and whomever was responsible was not skimping on the booze! For those who did not imbibe, Birthday Cake Mocktails were also provided, all with festive sprinkle coated rims.
Harpers Hearth: From the chandeliers made from horns and antlers hang crepe paper streamers and balloons, while on the walls are birthday banners and handmade garlands of popcorn and fresh wild berries. A large several tiered cake sits on the polished pitch black wood bar, and guests are encouraged to try and blow out the candles that are lit on their slice of cake when it is offered to them. To the amusement of some seemingly invisible snickering, these trick candles keep relighting until the fourth attempt to blow them out!
The Deep Wilds: Deep in the forest, set in an airy clearing is a large tea party bearing baked goodies, an assortment of teas, and huge bundles of colorful balloons. Some report that the teas (or maybe it’s the scones) induce a euphoric (but short lived) sensation. Local healers and doctors thus far have found no ill effect associated with any of the goodies.
Crystal Chasm: Various outposts sprouted up throughout the chasm, holding a vast array of your typical necessary supplies, but also colorful collections of rock candy! While they mimicked the crystals that lined the walls of this rift, these bounties were found to be safe for consumption. How you may ask? All it took was an overzealous geologist who was attempting to identify these newly discovered crystals.
The Bazaar: For the celebrations in the desert one needs only go to the heart of the Bazaar, to find a southern desert tribe of Viis dancing to honor the birthday being (or beings, whomever they really are). Every so often a spectator in the crowd is selected by one of the dancing figures and they are guided to the place of honor, encouraged to sit in the lap of the headless king statue as well wishes are called out amongst the celebratory music in the air.
Azifs Garden: The wooden table at the center of the tea garden has been decorated with colorful fabrics, often laced with golden threads and some of which have birthday patterns depicted on them in various languages as well as common. Colorful teas are steeped in crystal clear pots, some of them blooming in beautiful displays as patrons can sip and linger in a quiet spot while still overhearing the celebrations in the Bazaar throughout the day.
Stars End Bar: The droid who mans the bar greets every patron with “Happy Birthday” (in binary) and once every four hours the bar’s famous Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster is offered out to a daring customer (reminded to sign the waiver of course) for free. Cosmic brownies are piled high on trays, having come from an overloaded order from the food replicators along the back bar.
The Anchor: Set at the base of the space elevator Yggdrasil and at the end of the causeway that stretches across Fool’s Luck Bay, even The Anchor has even been touched by hints of the celebration. A handful of brightly dressed, cybernetically enhanced men and women pass out (questionable) party favors and lead raucous renditions of Happy Birthday. Still, no one is sure just who they are singing to.
((OOC Note: *for those with businesses or locations that would like to participate, feel free to post below anything that patrons might find there! The theme is “birthday party”, of course, but your interpretation is the only limit.
Post your participation from live play, your own addition of your player location below in this thread and I’ll be sure to send you this icon at the end of the week! Enjoy and have fun!))

Twilight Isle: Upon arriving at the Isle it was common to find the goblins tossing glitter and wishing those arriving as well as each other “Happy Birthday!” Numerous platters of Max’s special decorated sugar cookies were laid out on the bar and all of the tables that were scattered nearby the dueling area as well.
Twilight Market: The mystical shopping center of the Isle was all abuzz with special birthday sales that went on for the next few days, and gift card raffles for select businesses in the market happened on the hour. Mini parades down the main street of the beloved Gob-squad entertained patrons and magical banners with shifting art which depicted different heroic acts seen during the ages of Rhydin were hung along the streets of the market.
The Gloaming District: Throughout the day and night, firework displays in purples and greens fill the sky in the private residential area of the Isle. Though the sounds were magically muted, the festive splendor was some of the most dazzling fireworks even the Isle had seen in quite some time! Sparkling visions of cakes and smoke writings in the sky of Happy Birthday would begin every hour.

Etude: The shop assistants at Dris' music store and studio have decorated the place in streamers and balloons, and are all wearing party hats for the day. Every visitor or customer entering the store will be treated instantly to a personalized rendition of the "Happy Birthday" song, just in case all this celebrating is for them! Between the hours of noon and 9 PM, the master luthier himself might even join in. Every visitor will be gifted a free kazoo before departure if they so desire as well.
Dragon's Gate Dueling Sword: The students of the Dragon's Gate Dueling Sword have been having a blast stuffing pinatas full of candy! Anyone stopping by the Baronial Manor will get to take a few whacks at any one of many different treat filled containers. Of course, visitors will be blindfolded and spun around several times! Not to worry. Even should you not succeed in smashing the pinata, you'll be sent home with a goody bag.
Governor's Mansion: By order of the newly appointed Governor Sheridan "Dris" Driscol, anyone who stops by the Governor's Mansion on this day will be given their very own birthday present! Choose between pre-packaged options in blue, pink, yellow, or green (gendered or not) for a surprise family friendly toy! If trucks, dolls, building blocks, or toy music sets aren't your liking, ask for the special "grown up" package, rumored to contain a small bottle of the Governor's favorite scotch and a jar of cherries.

The Outback: Cakes in the shape of fists and a familiar shape, are ready and waiting in the Outback. Some are filled with chocolate, others with vanilla and still others with various blood-red fruits such as pomegranate, strawberry, raspberry and meswen. With a drop cloth laid out over a simple ring, a food fight with the cake may be what's silently encouraged by the mysterious party planners.
"Brews and Brawls are on the house!" Reads a sign, propped up on a ready to go ice pack.

Ssssssss.. Pop, pop, pop!
A group of girls were quick to scream and shout! For good reason too as fireworks suddenly crackled and banged behind them. The happily laughing culprit of this prankish act was quick to run off as soon as the fuse was lit. Bounding over trash cans, climbing over fences, and climbing up onto roof tops as she went to find her next target.
"Happy birthday!" she says laughing as she jumped across one roof to another.
