The Zama Shrine
The Zama Shrine is a Shinto Shrine located within the boundaries of Kabuki Street in Dockside. Shi-chan and Ma-chan (Short for Shingetsu and Mangetsu) are the black and white rabbit mascots of the re-branding efforts of the shrine. The two rabbits can be viewed hopping around their small home within the grounds of the shrine and are kept separate from viewers within their own little rabbit-shrine. At set times during the day the Zama Shrine miko will allow children to come and pet the two rabbits. Please feel free to take pictures, but try not to use flash too much!

Morgan LaFey arrived with Midori Maeda, letting her see all the decorations and the pretty bunny motifs. He donated his money and took his ticket, and took his little baby sister to see Shi-chan and Ma-chan, cooing at her to be soft and gentle when she was given the chance to pet them.

Afterward he let her choose which backpack she liked better. Black or white? She seemed indecisive... So he bought both. Babies, amirite? The two spend some time shopping, with Morgan picking up a little case for his pins, and Midori magically receiving anything that caught her eye. By the time they left, Morgan was laden with a bag (He absolutely bought Mart a Rabbit Haori) and Midori was holding and gnawing on the ear of the black bunny pack, her eyes sleepy. They were probably home in time for a nap.

It was another day, another time than when her son had brought her baby daughter there, when the witch who owed so much to the kami honored here made her own way to Zama Shrine.

She cleansed her hands, made her offering, rang the bell, bowed twice, clapped twice, and bowed again. There in the moment between the second clap and its sound reaching her ears, the witch prayed.

No words were spoken aloud. They were barely considered - the kami had no need of them. Instead it was feelings: Beltanes and Tanabata festivals and countless small but treasured moments with Eri; their daughter’s face and feel and voice and strong, vibrant spirit; and a growing found family, and close friends, and every moment of happiness she had witnessed. There was her own nascent place in the firmament, a niche where she knew she could make a difference blessing those who needed to confide their secrets in her, the Horned Heart. There was Kabuki Street, blessed in RhyDin to know little terror, and less as time went on, and more blessings for each new year of shrimps that swarmed in the streets, the dormitories, and the halls of the school that served as a second home to many.

The prayer and contemplation should have taken hours; and in a way, it did. For a fraction of a fraction of a second, the witch was only there in spirit, only as much as she needed to be, while her mind worked within the endless loop of time that eternity provided for her.

But she needed to bow a third and final time, and so she was there to bow; and there to purchase a few things her students could win during their next pop quiz; and there for the walk home to her wife and their daughter.

Anya remembered Shi-chan and Ma-chan from the prior year and eagerly took the opportunity to visit the little ones again. Their enclosure was her first stop when she arrived, where she had a serious conversation about carrots and alfalfa. It was an entirely one-sided affair, these rabbits were doing quite well.

Moving on, she picked up a case for her pins, and a black rabbit bag. She knew someone who would love it.

Before leaving, she left a donation of 100 silver nobles. Ticket safe in hand, she returned to work for the day.

While she had been walking along the docks she heard tale-tell about a lottery and rabbits. It was the rabbit part that really drew her attention. Still being new to the are, Airtia wasn’t quite sure where this Zama Shrine was, but after asking around she was able to get valid directions.

It was early evening as she neared the Shrine and there were a few people milling in and out of the place. Airtia was a good distance away still, but it was a religious establishment and she did not do too well with them. However, these places typically did good things for the community with their funds and it was in her interest to learn about various places in Dockside.

Her jeweled fingers flexed and lightly clicked together as she drew closer. At the front she saw the signs an information about the lottery and followed, looking over the other items that were for sale. Interesting.

It did not take long for her to find the ticket booth. The proper fee paid and she was now the owner of a lottery ticket. A flick of her wrist and that ticket vanished. Mission done she made her way out of the Shrine . . .

Meru made sure to come down to the Shrine to purchase her Lucky Rabbit Lotto ticket on Sunday. She lined up for a chance to pet Shi-chan and Ma-chan as well, and spent some time browsing before purchasing her pin and the white handbag as well. Like many of the shrimps she was spending the weekend close to home so she had enjoyed spending the few hours around the shrine, while waiting for Hana's assistant Jin to be off duty so they could go get their dinner.

Reign stumbled upon the Zama Shrine wholly by happenstance, despite her sister having told her about it over a year ago. Plenty of 'Yeah I'll check it out' promises finally were fulfilled. Merchandise was perused, the lotto was entered, and when she walked away, she was (upfront) poorer for it, leaving with a ticket and a rather cute haori, though she had no idea when she would actually wear it.

Dris paid a visit to the Zama Shrine one fine afternoon to learn and immerse himself in the culture. He enjoyed a visit with Shi-chan and Ma-chan, picked up a collectible pin, and made certain to purchase one of the Lantern Warmth Rabbit Haoris. Of course he also picked up a ticket for the lotto. After taking the time to pray, he left with his loot, a smile, warmth in his heart, and a bounce to his step.

Jackson happened to be walking around the area before he spotted the shrine, figuring he would try he reached into his pocket to drop some cash in, only to find he left his wallet at home.
"Damn, and I did not put it in my shadow realm too... Oh well, I got enough for half, I am sure they will like it nonetheless." he said before he got out some spare cash he had, and placed it in the donation area, unaware fate was smiling down upon him.

On the very last day of the month, Rhys dropped by the Zama Shrine. His boyfriend, Dris, had chatted happily all month about how charming he’d found the shrine and the mechanic was finally getting the chance to see it. He spent a little time with Shi-chan and Ma-chan, telling them about the new puppy he had in the household, and when he’d exhausted that story, he simply basked in the ambiance of the shrine.

Before he headed back to work, he made sure to purchase a lotto ticket. He purchased one of the haoris and a pin, too, as well as a pair of white rabbit backpacks. He was sure his niece and goddaughter would love those.

It was the last day of February when the gatito made his way to the Zama Shrine. Though he gave Shi-chan and Ma-chan a wide berth due to his own nature, he made sure to pick up one of their collectible pins when he bought his lottery ticket. He bought a haori, too; he could use another in his collection.
