Additional All Week DoF Promotion!

To continue to support our duelists come Dueler Appreciation Week, the DoF staff will be running a ten times, time-and-a-half event! Your first ten (10) wins in DoF during dueler appreciation week will be worth 1.5 wins each, so if you manage to get them all you'll be able to get all the way up to 15 total wins!

If you happen to finish the week with an odd number of wins, your total will be rounded up to the nearest win and awarded as such. So get out there and get some duels in, friends!

Armsgiving

Armsgiving 2021
Bring a weapon, take a weapon

As Dueler Appreciation Week comes to an end, stop by the Red Dragon Inn at 9 PM (ET) for a night of steel (and whatever else might comprise a nice weapon). Bring a weapon to share with someone else and take one from the pile. Whichever one is shiniest or perhaps the one that calls to you or maybe the one that seems to be overlooked by everyone else. Whatever you do, treat it well for each weapon will be “blessed” to protect its wielder for the year to come.

Weapons run the gamut from swords and daggers to whips and axes, gauntlets and maces, staffs and polearms, and more! The sky truly is the limit for what you may find. To help expand the available selection, we encourage those with the means to do so to bring in a weapon of their own. It may be new or used, big or small, serious or silly, our only request is that it does not have any existing bodily fluids on it.

Stay for a bite to eat and drink specials courtesy of the Governor’s Office. Just please wait to test out your new weapon until you’re outside or in one of the dueling rings.

Eats:

Main Course:
Turducken - A bird within a bird within a bird, turkey, duck, and chicken in one!
Tofurkey - For a meatless option, enjoy a seasoned tofu loaf stuffed with creamy spinach and spiced stuffing

Sides:
Fall Greens & Pear Salad - Seasonal greens, fresh pears, choice of dressing
Creamy Spinach & Artichoke Dip - Just as the name says, a creamy dip made of spinach, artichoke, and plenty of cheese. Served with sides of sour cream or salsa (or both!). Eat it with chips, veggies, or baked focaccia bread pieces
Four Cheese Spirals - Pasta spirals in a rich four cheese sauce
Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes - A classic, starch, starch, butter, and garlic

Treats:
Mini Apple Pie Tarts - Tart cups filled with cinnamon sugar apples and a dollop of whipped cream
Sword & Shield Cookies by Sweet Cheeks Bakery - Cute cookie cutouts in the shape of swords and shields with buttercream frosting
Beef Fat Fudge (Sounds gross, tastes delicious!) - Sweet and savory chocolate fudge made with beef fat instead of butter

Drink Specials:
Apple Cider Margaritas - Apple cider, tequila, cointreau, orange juice, lime, cinnamon sugar rim, cinnamon stick and apple slice garnish
The Man Who Would Be PumpKing by Lost Pub Brewery - Imagine pumpkin pie in a bottle! A smooth drink with a strong malt backbone. ABV 8.6%
Cranberry Sangria - Muddled cranberries, fruity red wine, brandy, orange juice, and fresh fruit garnish

((Thanks to Ettyn for the original idea of Armsgiving, way back during the election! If there’s a specific weapon your character wants, you’re welcome to say they found it there. If you want to make up something unconventional that they might not know they want but need anyways, that’s fun too. Two people want the same thing? Hot damn, somehow they find a second one and both people can have it! Really, just have fun and take home something shiny! Thank you to Lost Pub and Sweet Cheeks for borrowing their creations!))

Ettyn was not able to be there in person, at least at first — something about watching Air Bud with her dad? — but she did stop long enough to drop off a few weapons: a well-crafted longsword and short sword that would resist breaking, and a short sword and scimitar that each had the potential to help the wielder’s luck.

Multiple wands were donated for the Armsgiving celebration.

Those perusing these magical instruments may be drawn to one over the others, as if the wand is calling to them.

There are multiple cards propped up in front of the wands — each telling their make and age, along with an advertisement bearing the name:

" Lestrange's

In observance of Armsgiving, Kira sent a number of weapons produced by Legacy Forgeworks, the custom enchanted crafts and armory producer of the Adia Estate. Business cards were available in the display with information on how to browse the catalog and commission custom crafts of all types.

(((All items are enchanted, but I’ll leave the specifics of the enchantments to be decided by the end user. And, yes, the scythe is also a glaive and a sword.)))

Jameson Mayer believed there were two weapons an enterprising person could not live without, and he donated a few spares of both of them to the collection.

The imp (not literally!) made a contribution as well. In the spirit of Armsgiving, she brought the stop sign that she used in her challenge against Caleb…. With an attached, bloody, sawn off at the elbow arm.

MalaCrescent - A malachite longbow whose accuracy improves if used when a moon is visible. Also makes for a decent bludgeoning weapon if unstrung.
