A Surprise Engagement Party

A number of invitations were sent out over the weekend, along with a few posted fliers that were magically hidden from two certain people.

Friends, loved ones, and everyone in between,

Please join us in celebrating the engagement of Haru Jeong and Wylinna Newhaven with a surprise party on the beach of Twilight Isle. The celebration will begin at 10:30 PM by the standard time on Wednesday, the 28th of July.

Guests to the party would be greeted by a beach decorated with candles and lanterns to enhance the atmosphere provided by eternal twilight. A few scattered bonfires marked seating areas, accompanied by beanbag style chairs, benches dug into the sand, and scattered tables for food and drinks.









Catering included a pasta and salad bar, offering a variety of pastas, sauces, and toppings. A cupcake display stood next to the food table with an assortment of flavors for all tastes. And, of course, an open bar was set up to provide drinks and other refreshments for those not wishing to walk back to the full service bar closer to the dueling rings.

Kira, herself, would be arriving in her typical street clothing, to better disguise the intention behind her meeting with Haru that evening. Of course, as soon as the surprise was revealed (and a change of clothes provided to Haru and Linna by the ever resourceful James), Kira would be changing into her own party attire. She decided to prepare her favorite dress for the evening, along with accessories and painted nails. As always, if anyone suggested the barest hint of cosmetics, she would, naturally, deny the notion outright.

Keeping on top of rumors of things on Twilight Isle was one of Max's specialties, so when she heard about a surprise engagement party, she wanted to be certain to attend -- even if she might not be able to stay terribly long due to various tasks on the Isle. Though she had just received a gift of a full outfit from Karma that evening, Max was dressed in a simple black maxi dress with gold stars dotting the fabric and her hair in thick spiraling twists. Sandals made for easy movement over the isle sands, though it could have been noticed that she wasn't currently leaving footprints in them.

After a quiet moment to congratulate Haru and Wylinna and to toast to their future nuptials, Max wanted to give another congratulations to the newest Keeper of Earth, Kira. Before she left, Max made sure to tuck away a gift somewhere for the couple to find, and hoped they could continue to have a lovely evening there on the beach on Twilight Isle.




Inside the package from Max and Alasdair were a pair of cherry blossom glasses, simply enchanted to always keep their contents at the perfect temperature.

During the party an arrangement was delivered to the couple and set on an out of the way table near the festivities so that its sweet fragrance could be enjoyed. The vase was enchanted to keep the arrangement alive for a fair bit longer than normal.



With it a note wishing the couple well with congratulations from the Duel of Magic team.

Ettyn made an appearance when she could, following Anya to the Isle! While she wasn't dressed in a particularly fancy way, she'd at least put on one of her nicer tunics when she stopped by, a rich purple color.

She and Anya had procured a small belt of drowish throwing knives and a bolt of intricately patterned golden spider silk from their Underdark business partners at Whitedown Retreat, to give to the happy couple to congratulate them on their engagement.

Two bracelets would be left for the couple wrapped away in a pink envelope.



A note included reads:

- Even when apart we will always be in each others hearts.

The bracelets have the special ability to instantly teleport one of them to the other.

Mist showed up, almost a stepped up farm hand, in a pale green tunic and denim, his hair short and moppy, but, always happy to see his loved one's joy. He brought a tea set for the happy couple...

[Haru Jeong]

Haru had arrived at the isle for a requested duel, his outfit quickly whisked away into his usual all-black semi-formal ensemble once he was told the truth. Throughout the night Linna and himself had tried to be social, the young man at least finding himself overwhelmed and more than once about to spill the beans about their other little secret, which happened before the end of the night with a comment about being a family, oops!

The gifts had been taken home by the goblins via a portal, the duo to set them where they belonged in the morning, each one getting a special spot in their home, the glasses from Max put up in the china cabinet where they couldn't get knocked down by stray paws or fingers, The flowers placed on the dining room table, a ward placed so none of the critters could nom on them. The bolt of spider silk was carefully folded, the knives placed on top in a spot for safekeeping for the day Haru managed to persuade Linna to learn to use a blade. Bracelets found their wrists, and the tea set found itself in a safe spot on the counter for their morning tea.

A little plant would find itself protected and living in the most gloriously sunny spot in the home, at least until they moved it again.
