Birthday Block Party!

Post by Abby »

Wind down the end of Pride Week and come on over to Old Temple West all day Saturday, June 12th, to join the family in helping celebrate...

Edgar Greensmith’s 23rd Birthday!

Auntie Sizzle, cousin Jameson, all the Dean kids, Nellie, Olive, Pert, Gus, Noodle, Kaliope, Polly, Paxton, Rooster, and all the rest of the extended family have taken over the block! Friends and family are all welcome to come on by at any time of the day! The party runs until the last person standing has finally passed out for the night!

Street games of cornhole and beanbag tick tack toe will be available, as well as tons of sidewalk chalk, super soakers, water balloons, and more! Rumor has it they'll have even busted open a fire hydrant for everyone to play in! If that's not enough, there will be a home made tarp stretched slip'n' slide was well! Come hungry and ready to get wet!

MENU

Home grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings.

Baked Beans and Cheesy Potato Casserole!

Crescent Roll Veggie Bars and Ramen Noodle Salad!

Macaroni Salad and Wheelbarrows Full of Booze!

Plenty of Flavored Sodas Too!

Lucky Charms Marshmallow Crisp Treats!

There's plenty of room left over for any dishes you might want to bring as well!

A special area has been set aside within the apartment complex for any gifts that may have been brought for the birthday boy, as well.

(( This is a board only event! Please feel free to post your character's attendance and participation! ))

(( Special thanks to the writer of Kaliope for helping me build the menu and more! ))

Ed was of course in attendance! Dressed in his most fabulously rainbow-y best.

Ready for hugs and the overall celebration of himself, he personally welcomed every single person who attended and thanked them for coming! Full of life, love, and energy, he was happy to draw on all the sidewalks and engage in water gun battles at any given opportunity.

Kaliope was there to help wrangle the kids and keep a watch over the party itself. Unlike the birthday boy, she stuck to denim and black in the form of bleached cut-offs and a sleeveless t-shirt with ruching at the sides. Despite the abundance of water being flung about, she wore simple sneakers instead of flip-flops. A girl never knew when she might have to move quickly.

On a table within the area set aside for gifts, she had left Ed a small box. Inside, nestled amongst colorful tissue paper, was a trio of necklaces strung with multicolored beads that called to mind a time long past. There was a pair of bracelets in there, too.

Considering that she was the one throwing this party, Abby was there to monitor the festivities and make certain that Ed's special day remained full of nothing but good vibes. Barefoot, as ever, and wearing what seemed only to be an over-sized burgundy t-shirt that hung loose off one shoulder with a print of rainbow printed lips on the chest. She could be seen drifting through the crowd, stopping to chat politely with this person or that, and occasionally sharing a smoke, of various sorts.

More often than not she was seen in the company of the family's newest member Kaliope. Though she took opportunities to heckle Jameson, join the kids in water gun fights, and add some graffiti to the pavement using the available sidewalk chalk. At one point she chased Ed around the block with water balloons, reveling in his joyful shrieks and getting just as soaked as she got him. She even took little Polly down the tarp slip'n' slide a few times.

The gift she left for Ed was something she knew he would be able to take very good care of, and was certain to give him hours of entertainment. A blast from the past for him to share with his children as they grew older. The family's very own original classic Nintendo Entertainment System with a gun controller and three games.

Abby greeted anyone who came to the party, and thanked them for their attendance, bestowing the blessings of City Mama upon each and every one.
