Challenge For PathFinder

A thick white sheet of parchment was tacked to the corkboard with a black and gold pushpin. The message that it contained was written in an exceptionally precise left-handed script in black ink. A seal in black and gold wax with the impression in the wax of a panther head was at the bottom of the parchment.

Utilising and exercising the right that I possess to challenge for an Opal because I have earned the rank of Emerald, I am therefore issuing an official challenge to the current custodian of PathFinder, Bailey Raptis, for the right to be the custodian of that Opal.

The challenge for the custodianship of the Opal Pathfinder will take place on Tuesday, March 9th, at 9:30PM by the Eastern clock tower. The honourable Caller known as Dris will preside over the challenge.

Rachael and Bailey gave us quite a show tonight, and if you weren’t there to see for yourself you surely missed out! The proxy known as Dragao -- the one with the mean mug and villainous mustache -- fought on Bailey’s behalf tonight. We got to witness the stunning spectacle of Rachael’s armor in the Outback, too! Sparks never literally flew, like you might expect of flint versus steel, alas, but our combatants did fight a full three matches!

The first fight had Dragao starting off strong and keeping the lead well into the sixth round. By the seventh, however, Rachael came back with a high kick that grounded the proxy and tied the score up at threes. The very next round consisted of an exchange of karate chop strikes that brought the match to SUDDEN DEATH, which persisted in a standoff in the ninth round. A clever kick brought down the ducking drago in the tenth round, securing the win for Rachael!

Match number two moved at a quicker pace than the one before it. Dragao started again with an early lead and held onto it the entire time. Rachael narrowed it down some by the fifth round, leaping majestically over the proxy’s forward kick. Catching a punch and giving Rachael a toss secured Dragao the final point with a score of 5 to 3 in the sixth round to secure a victory on Bailey’s behalf. And that took us to the third and final fight!

This last one was a real nailbiter and kept us all on the edges of our seats! Unlike the previous two, Rachael landed the first point. After that, it was a seesaw battle with the lead. Dragao had it in the third round, only for Rachael to take it back in the fifth. In round six they tied things up again at three each and continued to match each other blow for blow. We saw SUDDEN DEATH again in round seven when they both landed punches. Round eight brought us to OVERTIME when matching kicks saw the score jump to five all! Before we could all be stricken blind and deaf from the sirens and lights, Dragao finished things off with a superior ducking defense that landed the final, sixth point to allow Bailey to secure a defensive victory!

Nice try, Rachael! You two were amazing tonight! Congratulations, Bailey, on your first defense!
