Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event, 18+)
Word of mouth had started spreading on the Isle and farther-flung reaches that Jaycy and Morgan LaFey were planning a party to celebrate the newest first-time Keeper - and Valentine's Day!
Many people remembered Morgan's tower party and so the Isle and beyond was abuzz with gossip as to what the two of them could get up to together!
Everyone would find out, it seemed, on Saturday February 13th at 8pm!
(( This will be a board event only. Setting description coming soon! ))

Re: Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event)
Morgan was given the honored task of decor and helping plan Jaycy’s “Walking on Air” tower party. Upon entering, guests are greeted with the soft percussive sounds of hang drums, ethereal and resonant. Sheer white and icy blue silken fabrics drape and hang all around and are complemented by golden accents. Cushions and pillows lay in scattered mounds, seating and lounging areas for attendees to relax and enjoy the delights on offer. Air elementals wander from place to place with trays of finger foods and delicacies meant to share, drinks, and soft, airy pastries that seem to further relax and loosen guests. Elementals also man a long table placed along the side of the room where interested attendees may have a custom beaded feather clip created to weave into their hair or among their outfits. In the central room lies another feature: an out-of-the-way shrine. A small photo and perpetually lit candle memorialize the loss of life within. They stand foreground to the ever-twirling vortex where forty (40) feathers float and dip and spin in honor of every individual Air Keeper reign.
Nooks and crannies through the Tower have been lovingly carved of silk barriers for lovers or even dalliances to share private moments. Windows have been thrown wide open to allow the free flow of air around all of them but it never seemed more than pleasantly cool, no matter the frigid howl that coursed outside the Tower’s domain.
Later in the evening, there is a multi-silk aerial performance by Morgan himself, to the song “Walking on Air” by Kerli, and at the very end of the song, the mood of the entire event shifts. The lights lower, and the fabric around is suddenly bathed in many colored lights, the music transitions to something with more beat. Trance. The floor is cleared and cushions pushed aside to allow for dancers to gather and celebrate with a cool mist that seems to perpetually swirl around their ankles.
Due to the nature of the party, at Jaycy’s direction, elementals served as guardians of the door and redirected any non-adults back to the beach and the rings.

Re: Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event)
Jaycy's style for the evening was a bit different than normal but felt befitting of the Diamond-Keeper. The Black Diamond itself wasn't in attendance but the diamond and turquoise key was at her neck on a silver chain, over the sky blue fabric. As well, in keeping with the theme, she wore a veil of white feathers over loose silver-streaked red hair.
She mingled, hugged, cuddled, and ate, enjoying both the company she kept over the night and Morgan's performance! She danced a little but for the most part she seemed content to sit on the cushions scattered around. She might have even snuck into an alcove for a few moments... depending on who asked.

Re: Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event)
For the first half of the evening, Morgan wore a white loose toga and lounged on pillows chatting with any that decided to join him, happy to entertain and carefully dodging any questions that weren't surface level by pointing out this couple or that snack tray, or becoming suddenly very interested in someone else's choice in fashion for the night. When it came time to perform, he wore a glacial blue body-conforming unitard to seem as a breeze among white clouds.
After the performance, he disappeared for a small amount of time, and came back quite ready to dance! He kept to the theme well, and his hair was elaborately done with feathers and diamonds, thin silver chains woven into the coif.
Strangely, Morgan was not seen eating any of the food served at the event, though those that were more perceptive could have perhaps caught sight of him once or twice eating nuts and dried fruits from a pouch secreted away in the pile of pillows he favored.

Anya arrived early in the night, giving herself plenty of time to mingle and sample the menu. She circulated the party as best she could to chat with all she knew. Shortly after Morgan's performance she snuck out, keeping it a short night.

Re: Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event)
It was unclear what amount of blackmail and/or cajoling that Anya and Jaycy had to do to accomplish this, but the slayer not only put on a dress, but showed up to the Tower of Air still wearing it.
It may have been the inclusion of a belt, something that she used to hold a brass knife and a silver short sword, that ultimately convinced her to grudgingly accept most of the outfit.
Her pretty red heels were less lucky. Short as they were, they still caused her to wobble slightly. She had been at the party for less than a minute when she removed them in irritation and flung them off of the Tower.
She side-eyed a few of the elemental beings, and told anyone willing to humor her long enough that there were probably invisible ones spying on them right now, and that she'd been strangled by one once. Her paranoia did not ease to normal Ettyn levels (read: still high for most people) until she'd had a few of those relaxing puffy pastries, and washed them down with an entire tray of oysters.
She asked after more meat as she gnawed on some thinly sliced capicola, and looked at the avocado roses with the same level of suspicion she reserved for invisible stalkers.
In spite of all of this, she seemed in what passed for a good mood for the slayer. When Morgan finished his dance, she banged her knife on her empty oyster tray like a shield and roared approvingly for the performance. She checked on Anya occasionally, but not as often as she had been of late, ribbing her friend when she saw the opportunity and cracking a grin when she gave her grief over "these fancy princess dresses." She danced to the trance music, not with the practiced motions of someone used to the club scene, but with a primal energy that managed to fit the beat well enoguh.
And she definitely went slinking near-silently over scattered cushions and lounging partygoers after a certain redhead, disappearing behind a silk barrier for a time later in the evening.

Sylista arrived with Mathian and Viktor to wish the Governor well as the newest Keeper of Air. The Flameweaver pointed out a few things that she recognized from when she had worked with Michelle Montoya there during the summer and marvelled at the decorating. They had arrived right at the beginning so the three could slip out before the Tower of Water challenge started to support Haru.

Re: Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event)
Three of the four proxies that Bailey had been employing in recent months made the trip up to the Tower of Air for Morgan and Jaycy's party: Cuervo, Corazón, and Dragão.
Cuervo wore the same gold lamé hot pants they had worn for one of the Real RhyDin challenges ages ago, politely asking any of the partygoers (Morgan and Ettyn in particular) to pour any extra alcoholic beverages they might have over their head. Otherwise, they were content to watch Morgan's silk dance and applaud as politely as they could with their heavy, marble hands.
Corazón was a little shyer, mostly sticking somewhere within Jaycy's vicinity, with the occasional shy wave for Morgan if they saw him. After the silk dance had concluded, they left the party early, leaving Cuervo and Dragão to remain.
Dragão mostly just stood around with their arms crossed, acting like a (unasked-for) security guard for the party. If they met Ettyn's eye, though, there would be a subtle upnod to the woman, a show of respect for having the guts to headbutt a stone golem. What stood out most about Dragão was not any of their actions, but rather, their appearance. From the neck down, they were covered in thorny vines, from which sprouted bright red flowers. They looked like they might be roses, but it was difficult to tell for certain from a distance, and everything about Dragão's posture said "Keep away."

Re: Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event)
The stories of Morgan LaFey’s tower party were legion, and the gossips had done their job well to sow curiosity and interest when it came to Jaycy’s Walking on Air celebration with decorations done by the Dread Captain himself. So well, in fact, that Isaac would find himself in attendance alongside his lover, Canaan. The pair arrived together at the appropriate hour and were ushered into the sounds of resonating drums, their ethereal beat sounding like a celebratory procession to the knife thrower.
Isaac appreciated the diaphanous silken fabrics which hung about the room in their pure whites and arctic blues. They had a glacial stillness to them until caught by one of the cool breezes which wafted in through one of the numerous open windows. He would inquire of his lover as to the nature of the air elementals as the elementals, and the couple, made their way through the room. Should one offer the tray of finger foods and delicacies, Isaac would politely decline with a smile of gratitude his lover’s way. Though the drinks and pastries looked absolutely decadent, Isaac resisted as the darkness within the man needed no nudge, needed no relaxing of the self-imposed guardians that such offerings were sure to induce. Warm greetings for those he knew or was introduced to as he and his lover made the rounds. Isaac would be sure to congratulate Jaycy early in the evening before the revelries truly began to take root, and Morgan as well for his sense of style and eye for such effervescent detail.
The wayward scion would, at one point in the night, find himself standing before the shrine and its memorial, the swirling vortex of feathers which forever floated upon invisible currents of air. Though he had no personal connection to such a thing, it felt right to pay his respects in a quiet moment stolen from the revelry and celebration. Eyes the color of sky-streaked thunderstorms would watch the feathery display with a certain longing before the song Walking on Air announced Morgan’s multi-silk aerial show.
Isaac would cheer for his friend’s artistic display, the flair and improvisation all worthy of hearty applause as the music and mood shifted to one based on beat and cadence, that pulsing tempo meant to peak with hypnotic effect. Isaac would dance with his lover and celebrate the night before the two would steal away…perhaps to one of the silk guarded nooks carved into the stone throughout the tower…perhaps to further adventures beyond the ethereal realm.

Re: Walking on Air - Air Tower Party (Board Event)
Canaan Devillier loved parties. He also loved his friends. So it was no surprise to see him in attendance at this particular party which was not only a celebration for the newest Keeper, Jaycy, but also rumored to showcase an aerial performance by none other than Morgan LaFey. Though he was still currently enjoying a lengthy sabbatical from work, the cunning warlock certainly had his ways of remaining in the know. Despite this he showed up to the levee entirely under-dressed compared to the rest of the party-goers. Beneath Cane’s favored leather jacket he wore a simple scoop neck tee in heather green tucked stylishly into black jeans belted dubiously low around his hips.
Knowing Isaac wouldn’t care to wear the feathers, the Cajun took two of the party favors for himself and worked at weaving their black feathers into his braided hair as he and his beau worked their way through the room to find a comfy spot to get their bearings, greeting familiar and friendly faces alike along the way. Cane’s scholarly delineation of air elementals for Isaac was of course peppered throughout with his sharp, colorful humor, and did a fine job of talking up the flighty creatures as formidable skirmishers in combat, citing a particularly onerous storm elemental he’d helped dispatch back in 1964. The mundane world had named her Hurricane Hilda and it had taken the southern warlocks nearly two days to rein her in.
Unlike his lover, Cane enjoyed both food and drink, sampling just about everything the elementals brought his way with a certain sensuous relish. Whether he enjoyed the food that much or was bent on enticing and capturing Isaac’s attention as often as he could was unclear, but the Cajun’s smile lit up with devilish flair every time he found the scion’s storm-grey eyes on him.
When he later found the man lost to introspection before the shrine, Cane tucked his fingers into Isaac’s hand with a fond squeeze, leaning in to smear a kiss against the scion’s stubbled jaw. The pair spoke in hushed tones, their heads and hearts close until interrupted by the long awaited silks performance. He cheered along with Isaac, sending up shrill whistles of appreciation when the young man was finished. After a quick word with Anya before she left, he made sure to snag the dancer for a more personal chat when he came back from getting changed, eagerly talking choreography and extolling the advanced sequences Morgan had worked into the beautiful piece.
Cane stole a dance with Jaycy before the party’s mood veered too far into hedonistic waters, ostensibly congratulating her on her spectacular win, but their low conversation lasted the entire length of a song before the two broke apart with a final hug and Cane was off prowling the dance floor for his beau. He gladly spent the rest of the night in Isaac’s fine company, and after working up a sweat on the dance floor was more than happy to slink away with him into the privacy of the silks.

Between Jaycy and Morgan, it would assuredly be a party for the ages. And where parties were, Karma often was too. The Tower of Air was a familiar space and having the opportunity to revisit so soon was a further benefit.
