An Invitation To Challenge for the Tower of Water

In the spirit of fostering change and growth in the new year, I am waiving my remaining grace period for any challenger from whom I have not yet defended the Tower of Water, and is eligible to issue challenge.

All such challenges will be accepted, in order, until we have a new Keeper of Water.

It is my hope that this will encourage new challengers to rise to the occasion, and provide grand fun for all.

There was quite the line-up at the door for this challenge! No less than three people threw down their names on the list to try to unseat Eregor and remove him finally from the Tower of Water! Tonight, one of those challengers stepped up to the plate.

Keeper Eregor made use of the special ring Poseidon for every match that was fought this evening, and it’s important to note that our combatants did fight a full three matches! The first bout seemed an easy run that suggested Eregor wasn’t going to be unseated easy. They took it to seven rounds with a final score of 5 to 3 in his favor.

The second match went quick! Miss Harker came out of the gates on fire with determination. She took and held onto a significant lead all the way to an explosive double impact (NR/NR) ending of 5 to 2 in five swift rounds!

It was the third and final match that had us on the edges of our seats, however. Eregor refused to go down easy. After having already banked seven historical defenses, he figured why not one more? Our combatants took us to sudden death twice in the final three rounds! On the tenth, though, Maggie swooped in with a strong attack that had her securing her victory at a final score of 6.5 to 5.5!

Congratulations to our newest Keeper of the Tower of Water, Mairead Harker! Well tried on number eight there, Eregor! Now kick back and relax! You earned it!

I just wanted to make a quick clarification for anyone who may be concerned! With Maggie's win, the "challenge queue" for the Tower of Water is now over and Sylista and Haru's following challenges are no longer valid.

Both Sylista and Haru are available to challenge for another title as rules otherwise allow.
