Trick'r'Treat at Cadentia Manor

Post by Lilith Anderson »

Want free candy? Got little heathens of your own that are wanting to go out trick-or-treating? Hop the Twilight Isle portal to the Cadentia Baronial Manor for a fun, family friendly trick-or-treat through twenty stations throughout the manor and grounds. Open to all ages though a few rooms might be spooky for those under 5. Detours will be available past the Spook Shack and the Witch's Hut for those with tots.

City orphanages and children's homes are encouraged to attend, volunteers are on hand to help wrangle large groups.

Please note: the firing range will be closed for the length of the event but the Nooners Saloon on the veranda will be open for discounted snacks and drinks.

This event is FREE to the public though we are accepting donations for the Rhydin LGBTQ Youth Center. Drop a donation off and get a coupon for 50% off a boom or break session of your choice at Cadentia's High Noon B&B.

((Just some board fluff to reference if you'd like. No live event!))
Well, I looked my demons in the eyes
laid bare my chest, said "Do your best, destroy me.
You see, I've been to hell and back so many times,
I must admit you kind of bore me."

Rhys and Dris arrived in Cadentia in the early afternoon, driving a truck filled with donations. The truck they had borrowed from Dris’ apprentice, Josue Dasilva, and they had conscripted the young man’s help besides. Between the three of them, they carried in several boxes bearing warm winter blankets; basic unisex toiletries; clothing basics, including socks, underwear, and t-shirts for layering; some hats and gloves; and pantry staples, including rice, beans, and canned goods. They also brought in a box of mixed pet foods, in case any of the homeless youngsters had furry friends who were also in need of help.

In addition to these supplies, the two men made a sizable monetary contribution, too, on behalf of their household. Helping young people in the LGBTQ community was a cause particularly close to Rhys’ heart and it drove him to generosity, an impulse that Dris had both supported and encouraged.

After the birthday celebration for Alin and Lena Túr Gairdín, Maggie, Cate, and Rick Harker lead a group of young children to the manor in Cadentia. Several schoolmates from Harker's Academy also attended and brought donations of winter coats, hats, and gloves.

Jaycy didn't make it down there herself but a harried intern (she wasn't usually a driver and she had to go all the way to Cadentia in an actual car) arrived with a full load of non-standard items: waterproof backpacks and bags, art supplies and journals, decks of cards, and board games for the center itself. Sometimes simple pleasures - or means of expression - could be helpful too.

In addition, a monetary donation was left.
