Challenge for Cadentia

Post by MC »

Myria, As it seems there are certain factions that deem me enough of a threat to knock me out of a free for all early, I wish to put this to the test and try and win the prize of that tournament... which if I am understanding, is up for grabs.

I Challenge you for control of the Barony of Cadentia

I don’t think you’re either of their types, Anubis. Mayhaps you should aim elsewhere... like Sally Palmer.

Youngest members of two of Rhydin's best known sports' families going head to head? This should be a good match. I'll cover food and drinks from the Wolfs Den for the day of the challenge and contribute $5000 gold to the winner's choice of charity.

Didn't even give me three hours to officially enjoy the place. Maybe that's fair because I was unofficially enjoying it since just after the end of the tournament.

I accept. Looks like there's a good amount of coin riding on this already. Anyone else want to ante up?

With a glitter-covered note from Tipple, she has regretted to inform me about an accident involving mischievous fairies and glitter that requires her attention. As such, I have reached out to Conner Reid to come out and call instead!

((A quick reminder for all parties tonight: title changes are not official until they are posted on the standings. As noted in the DoS rules:
2. Title changes are not considered official until they are listed in the standings. This means should a challenge take place on a Friday, and the Baron or Overlord lose their defense, they still gain the benefits of that rank until the new standings are posted on Sunday. (Fancies, Grants, Testing, etc.)
Lilith Anderson retains the benefit of the Overlord title with respect to tonight's challenge.))

Tonight, August 24 at 10ET in the Arena, we had the Challenge for Cadentia.

The challenger, Morgan Chae, fought under the multi-colored banner of the Chae Dynasty, his second was Neekylah Lang, and he had no person of honor.

Baron Myria Graziano fought under the blue and grey banner of the Wrecking Crew, and she had no second and no person of honor.

Since Overlord Lilith Anderson retains her title rights until the next standings will make her defeat official, she decided to test challenger Chae. Neekylah Lang, Chae's second, countered the test, using an Intercession Grant that she earned at the most recent All Ranks Tournament. This first fight was a close one, and while Anderson reached matchpoint first, Lang managed to hold her off for several rounds before finally succumbing, 5-3, in the 14th.

Anderson was then able to test challenger Morgan Chae. But Chae was determined to see his challenge through. He put up a near perfect match, defeating Overlord Anderson 5-0 in 6 rounds.

That momentum carried him forward against Baron Graziano. Chae allowed Graziano just one point before he scored four unanswered points to win the title, 5-1 in 6 rounds.

Well-reigned, Myria! And congratulations to the new Baron of Cadentia, Morgan Chae!

At the close of proceedings, Morgan informed the official that he would be aligning renegade.
