Midsummer Megacast 2020!

We had 16 spellcasters show up and it took us several hours and twenty-five hard fought rounds but in the end, everyone took home some sparklers, dishware, and hopefully some food. Six others took home top prizes!

Rini Chikara, eliminated in the same round as another but later in the round (and therefore outlasting them just slightly) placed Sixth and took home the comet!



Anubis Karos (yes, that Anubis) came in Fifth and took home the pixie in a jar! Anubis, so help me gods if I hear of you pulling any weird shit with it, we're gonna have words. She's being paid for that wish and I have no problem releasing her from her contract.



Haru put up a mighty fight and until late in the fight flew under the radar for much of the battle. But in the end, he too fell to the pitfalls of subtle alliances to take Fourth place! He claimed the Mystery Box and takes home Three wins for his record, a Thunder Road Drive In gift card, some moon dust, and a cute little bonsai sapling.



Miss Maggie Harker was a strong performer throughout the match, switching effortlessly between offense and defense but in the end, she came in Third place and took home the Mythical Grace Makerbreaker Grant, valid until the end of next cycle. Good luck with it Maggie!

At that point, our remaining two combatants were tired, muddy, and hungry for Burger Shack and after one round between the two of them, they decided to call a truce, hung up their spellweaving, and called it a tie.

So I declared Eden Parker and Michelle Montoya joint champions of the 2020 Midsummer Megacast! Eden took home the giant star plush and Michelle took home that spiffy rock. Someone in the crowd suggested it might be a dragon's egg but who knows. If it is, Twilight Isle is not liable for any food bill increases or changes in homeowners insurance premiums.





Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate 25 years of Duel of Magic. Look out for the next event on Tuesday August 4th as we gear up for the opening of the Umbra School of Magical Arts!



((Thank you truly to everyone. It was wild and ambitious to fit 16 people in, but I'm thankful for every single one of you for your patience and cooperation while we got through those slower early rounds.

As stated above, Maggie's grant is valid until the end of next cycle.

Both Eden and Michelle qualify for the Sparking! achievement as joint winners.
