I do not see why this would be unexpected.
A bounty was called on Harris in the past and I claimed it by defeating him and becoming Overlord.
It is pleasant to see that you answered the call to challenge quicker than most. This is not seen often in the venues.

Nayun takes her opportunities where she can; mercenary or not. Remember, she is one of the few if not the only Overlord that aligned all of her Barons to Renegade and prompted a challenge queue for the title. While I can't speak to her personal motivations, it's pretty much accepted that she did it because things had been stagnant with regard to titles at the time.

What I did in the past was not due to stagnation but the want to face strong opponents.
That opponent was Matthew Simon and by defeating me did he become Overlord.

If there is further confusion.

This challenge will be fought Thursday, December 12th, at Nine by the RhyDin clock*.

Allow me to clarify. You wanted to face strong opponents and created the pathway for it to happen immediately. Had you already been facing enough opponents that met your definition of strong, that queue might not have started. Hence my use of stagnation to describe the situation.

You like collecting bounties, this is not an unknown fact. I am not surprised when you want to claim any that are offered.

This should be an interesting challenge. I hope my brother-in-law prevails, but I do wish you well in the match.

"Our Challenger tonight, Nayun Takamine fights under a black banner with a red spider lily on it," which Lisa gestured to. "She has no second and her Lady of Honor is --- oh, of course. It's me. Her wife." There's a fake blush that follows, but a real bark of laughter before she continues on.

"The Baron of Dragon's Gate, Ebon fights under his family banner which is an eight-pointed silver star on a field of black, bordered in sapphire blue." To which Lisa also gestures to hanging up in the Arena. "His seconds are Rachael Blackthorne and Doran Ilnaren, and his Ladies of Honor are his wife, Phen Seer Ilnsaren, and his daughters, Azure and Olivia Ilnaren. Quite the lovely court Ebon, I must say."

Ebon decided to make the challenge a best of three!
Ebon won the first match 5 - 1 in 7, but Nayun took the wins in matches two and three with scores of 5 - 3 in 8 and 5 - 3 in 11 respectively.
