Bailey's response to the group message came sometime in the morning the next day.

Group Message to Eden, Jewell, Mallory: They are always up to something if the rumors are to be trusted. I am inclined to believe the old saying, "Where there is smoke there is fire."
Group Message to Eden, Jewell, Mallory: This is one of the many reasons I stayed away from fighting in the Outback and hand-to-hand.

In addition to the group message texts, a small note in a sealed envelope was delivered to Jewell sometime in the late morning or early afternoon. Strangely, the letter, if held up too close to one's face, had a mild but distinctly unpleasant odor of raw meat mixed with bile and some other pungent chemicals.

Note to Jewell:

PathFinder managed to break through the general wards that protect the Hedge and the specific wards that protect my Hollow to converse with me. It went to a lot of trouble just to tell me that it wants me to challenge Runt for it. Never mind the fact I do not even have rank and have made quite public the distance I am placing between myself and the duels.

We should talk in more detail once you are finished running and participating in Diamond Quest. Stay safe tonight.

Text to Jewell: A little bird (is that the phrase?) told me you won the Diamond last night. Congratulations! For the next 24 hours or so, the fae-touched will hold two of the three top titles in the sports.

Text to Jewell: I almost envy your hangover. I have to be responsible and on-call and in work relatively early so I cannot go as crazy as I used to. Hope The Royals had a good victory party. By my count, your team has won the last four Diamonds? Hash tag dynasty?
Text to Jewell: I suppose once I am not the 67th Archmage I will need something new to identify myself by. I have business cards but they do not exactly inspire...fear? Awe?
Text to Jewell: I am planning to be there to hand off the Key in person, and to direct my proxies to move out what remains of my belongings.

A little bit later in the day, a rather slovenly and bored looking courier dropped by Jewell's residence, handing her (or whoever might answer the door, he didn't seem to be all that concerned about who took delivery) of a business card. On the right side of the card was the Black Magic Burger logo, an orange circle superimposed over a black square, a burger in the center of both shapes being struck by a lightning bolt. On the left was Bailey's work information, including the location of Black Magic Burger's Old Temple location, his phone number and email address there, and his position as Front-of-the-House Manager.
