Seven days have passed without word from the Baron within a timely manner. Arithon Falessen is hereby stripped of his title and the process of finding a suitable defender of the title will fall upon the Barons Council.

The Barons Council has two choices in this matter.

1. Choose one of their own to act as the defender of the title and face Salvador Delahada. The Senior Baron has priority to defend should a decision be made for the council to defend the title themselves.
2. Choose an active (The active Warlord must not be listed as [NE]*) Warlord from the standings to act as the defender. Should this Warlord defend, they will become the newest Baron of Old Market.

Barons/Warlords flagged [NE] have not dueled in 2+ months and, therefore, may not challenge.

The council of Barons:

Alasdair Galloway, Baron of New Haven.
Gloria Blaze, Baron of Old Temple.
Mallory Maeda, Baron of Cadentia.

The Barons Council has 7 days, starting from post, to choose a champion to face Salvador Delahada. As the champion has done no wrong in this situation, it will be on the obligation of the defender chosen by the council to reach out to Salvador to begin talks on a challenge date and time, the challenger must still provide the caller for the challenge. The challenge must be fought within 14 days beginning Monday, October 21st at 9:47 PM (ET) . The challenge may be fought before this date should a champion be chosen earlier.

Should a decision not be made in a timely manner the Duel of Swords staff will choose a suitable defender.

I'm sorry Arithon, 9:15 PM (ET) was the final moment for acceptance. This falls under the Barons Council now.

The council should defend it ourselves. Gives a chance for a tournament to happen. That is my number one vote.

Now, if a Warlord champion is going to happen? Rachael Blackthorne should be chosen. Not only was she the most active, but was second place in the rankings of the past cycle. Sure, Gren won, but he's a Baron so I can't exactly choose him.

As Senior Baron, it would be my honor to defend this title. I agree with the Baron of Battlefield Park that it would present an opportunity for a tournament or event of some kind should I win.

I'll also uh.. get a duel in soon. Apologies for being otherwise occupied with the Duel of Fists matters lately, although that is no excuse for shirking my duties in the Arena.

Sorry, wanted to touch base with someone first.

Personally I’m in favor of Rachael being champion. She has a grant to use soon, but if the challenge happens quick enough, she could still gift it to someone so it doesn’t go wasted.

That said, a majority of barons support our Senior Baroness defending, and that works well, too. If she wins, it goes to a tournament, and tournaments are pretty fun.

With a vote of 6 - 1 it has been decided that the Senior Baroness of Seaside, Jewell Ravenlock, will act as the champion of the Old Market title.

Jewell, you will be responsible for contacting Salvador to start talks of dates and times. Thank you to the Barons Council for responding quickly to the vote and good luck to both of the fighters in the upcoming challenge.

This challenge has until November 4th to be completed.

And as we all know, our challenger, Sal, has no colors or second, because of course not. He does, however, have a lady of honor, who is none other than She Who Tends the Dead.
