Unifier Brewing Company
Within the entry, a concrete-floored area doubles as a foyer and loading area for carts. Depending on the time of day, you may find the proprietor, Juniper Fae, organizing and labeling, or the brewer, Nicklaus Burison, hauling bottles and barrels from the racking room. Said racking area is through another wide doorway, lined with shelves of products in the process of settling and barrel-aging. A separate room off the entry is behind a heavier, barred door, labeled "Still: No Unauthorized Entry". If authorized, visitors will see a chemist's laboratory of pots, tubes, burners, and other apparatus, in use only sporadically. Even when no distillation is ongoing, the building holds a persistent aroma of alcohol, the result of the mash tuns and fermentation vats in the brewery proper, the third room off the foyer.
A warehouse-sized open area, the main brewery includes Nicklaus' workshop for woodwork, smithing, glassblowing, and whatever other arts are required to keep the brewery functioning. The owners do purchase most equipment from other vendors, however, as attested by the pallets and crates of empty bottles and kegs, alongside stocks of ingredients: malt, sugar, molasses, honey, dried fruit, spices, etc. A brick oven and hearth have been added alongside the forge, with a small table and chairs alongside to create a dining area. A pump running from an outdoor well supplies the copious amounts of water needed for operations. Typically, the brewery's assistant, Ritz, is found here, filling and stirring vessels per Nicklaus' schedule.
A door in the back of the brewing floor is carved with the warning: "Private". Beyond, stairs wind up to the building's second story, the owner's residence, a small bedroom and bath converted from the former factory's attic. The space has an industrial aesthetic, but benefits from the warmth of the forge-fire below and the running water from the main pump. Guests (or intruders) may note the oversized bed, reinforced with heavy timbers and steel cables.
