Regarding adding an extra channel, I'm curious to know if there are players out there who don't post player driven events because they feel it's either:

a) too crowded
Or
b) not their space
For me, I don't post player driven events partly because I'm not good at running events. I'm also exceptionally lousy at self-promotion because it frankly embarrasses me to do so.

I tend to be involved more in dueler-driven events (challenges and the like). I feel that it's not my place to post notices of said challenges for example because I've been programmed over the years to think that posting anything duel-related in an OOC announcement style board/channel is for dueling staff only.

That being said, I truly appreciate when I'm tagged in a challenge post. It definitely gets my attention.

Oooooo, visual aids. xD

But seriously.

The sectioning off of the Lobby from the other OOC channels only makes sense, to me, as a viable option if we were also to implement the role-react system to the server. Because then, deselecting the Lobby role would take that section of the channel list away. But if we're not implementing that system, then splitting it off may not serve much of a purpose.

When you mentioned the "real estate" part of the channel list, I went back to look at it again, and I'm assuming that what you mean by that is the available space you have to work with where channels are concerned at-a-glance, without scrolling, so that the users aren't bogged down by so many different things. That makes sense to me, not wanting to have too many channels and having everything divvied up so far.

Of the things I've suggested, I'm the most pleased with how you've thought about moving forward with the "in play" role system, Kal. I think it's a good, viable way to go about doing it, and I think it will help make going IC feel more like going IC. And will also prevent people from getting confused on where everyone is writing.

I'm glad this thread has spawned so much discussion! I call that a win.

^ I'm also curious about this.

I don't normally post on the forums, or even read them, and was on the forums for another matter entirely, but I found this an interesting enough topic to read. One small suggestion/mention - I personally have the Lobby muted, and discovered today that it's possible to right click on the server icon, on the left of the Discord screen, and select 'Hide Muted Channels'. Then you don't see that muted room at all on the rooms list when you access that server. Easily done, easily undone, and a pleasant equivalent to leaving the room entirely.
