Honourable Baron Ebon Ilnaren, holder of the 8th Ring and Baron of Dragons Gate:

When I returned to the arena this year the gracious Eden Parker took me on as her squire while she held the Dragons Gate Barony. Not only has she held this stewardship but so has my mentor, Topaz Datrazanov and my father Condextint "Dexter" Montoya. For reasons of loyalty and heritage, I challenge you for the right of the 8th ring and for stewardship of Dragons Gate.

Ebon and I have settled on a date, Thursday, July 11th at 9:30pm by the Eastern Clock. Cane has graciously agreed to officiate our match. My colours for this match will be the Jade and Black of Atrebla, my second is Gloria Blaze, and my people of honour are Team Royal.

The Baron and I have discussed the possibility of a Block Party theme. Stay tuned for more details.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Cane will be unable to call for this challenge match. Phil Goshawke has agreed to take the caller's couch in his stead. Thank you, Phil!

There was ice cream! There were pies! There were lots and lots of people watching as Michelle Montoya, the current Keeper of the Tower of Water, challenged Ebon Ilnaren, the two-time Governor of RhyDin and current holder of the Barony of Dragon's Gate!

Tonight, Michelle Montoya fought under a banner of jade and black for Atrebla. Her Second was Gloria Blaze, and her People of Honor were Team Royal. Defending the Barony of Dragon's Gate was Ebon Ilnaren, fighting under a black and sapphire blue eight-pointed star banner representing House Ilnaren. His Second was Rhiannon Brock, and his Lady of Honor was Phen Seer Ilnaren.

The Baron elected to defend his title in a single match! After spending the first two rounds feeling each other out, Ebon and Michelle kept things close through the 6th round. After some well-timed defense, and one last cut that caught the stepping Baron, Michelle became the newest Baron of Dragon's Gate, winning 5-2 in nine rounds. Well won, Michelle, and well reigned, Ebon!
