Challenge to Battlefield Park

I feel like cashing in that whole "I owe you one" thing.

And what better time to do it than during political upheaval in the sport of swords, where I'm sure this challenge will gain nothing but positivity since I'm not out for any sort of blood. Hopefully I won't have to write an essay, since I think I'm on Matt's good side right now.

Anyway. Promise not to attempted murder you.

Andrea has accepted the location, and we've agreed to meet at Battlefield Park on May 4th at 9 by the Eastern clock. Lisa Takamine has agreed to call. More details to come the week of the challenge.

Fight Night at Battlefield Park!

The challenge for Battlefield Park takes place outside the manor itself, in the ruins of a memorial garden near the forest path. Little remains of the wrought iron fence that once surrounded it, but the marble gargoyles and angels that remain mark the perimeter, and enchanted lanterns float over the gate.



Stone benches and an ampitheater flank the space, providing space for spectators to sit and for vendors to set out food and drinks. Ruined rotundas serve as the dueling rings, where all are welcome to fight. Their roofs are long gone and their columns have been worn down to the base, each of them warded with healing magic; and much of the ancient stonework is overgrown with flowering vines.



Local breweries and distilleries have donated food and drink to sell throughout the evening, with proceeds to benefit the reopening of the Kabuki Street Community School, while direct donations will also be accepted. Red Orc Brewery has provided “Bangers and Blondes” — their Badsider Beltane Blonde, Bangers from Munro’s Deli, their standard Badsider ale and Badcider, and giant soft Pretzelboy pretzels.

Unifier Brewing Company offers bottles of their brewed sodas -- Ginger Beer, Sparkling Lemonade, and Sarsaparilla, and the newly minted Afl-Porter (a strong, dark beer) on tap. Two items are available as raffle prizes: a full cask of Afl-Porter and an oversized decorative bottle of Spring Blossom Cordial. The Cordial magically incorporates actual edible spring flowers (cherry, chrysanthemum, wild pea, and violet) into a potent, sweet liquor. The petals continually fall within the liquid until it is poured, to dissolve and disappear within each glass. The bottle is of hand-blown glass, a light purple color, with inlays depicting its floral ingredients.

For the records, both fighters showed up on time tonight to battle things out over Battlefield Park!

"Our Baroness and May Queen Mallory Maeda fights under the golden dragon of House Kabuki on a white field. Her Lady of Honor is her beautiful bride Eri Maeda. And her second is our Archmage Bailey Raptis."

They then fought in a Single One-Shot match where the final results were Mallory defeating Andrea 5 - 3 in 9 rounds. Congratulations Mallory and well tried Andrea!

Andrea's 30 day waiting period began Sunday, May 5th at 12 AM (EST).
The waiting period will end on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 12 AM (EST).
This waiting period can be circumvented by Andrea if she collects five winning duels, starting May 5th, and proceeds to include them in any new challenges before the 30 day limit comes to an end.
Normal challenge rules will still apply (Standings must be updated to reflect this challenge as complete before any new challenges can be made by Andrea).
