Renegade Regalia Inc. returns with another spectacular Lunar New Year event in celebration to the Year of the Pig!

Each piece is unique to itself with no replications anywhere else in the world(s). With a light smile on her face and a voice ready to answer any questions -- Ana kept outside of Renegade Regalia, since absolutely no food is allowed inside(!), and played the part of hostess. She'd guide guests to the many attractions, food, and even to the wetnaps should they want to head into the shop; after all, having clean hands is very - very important!

It was always easy to attract Mist's attention with the shimmer of gold and splash of crimson. This year, however, he knew it was coming and cheerfully arrived in robes of red, black, and gold. He watched the dancers in rapt attention for quite a while before turning to the shop, and dipping a bow politely to Ana.

Always curious about new things, he tried all of the delicacies she recommended, and was careful to wipe up his hands before venturing into the shop. He picked up one of the red envelopes, as well, and asked about that before opening it.

Mist spent quite a long while studying the pieces on offer, as if he was looking for something specific. But he never said what it was, if he was.

A vibrant array of red and gold caught Michelle’s eyes, lifting her gaze from the shopping list she was reading over. This particular road in the market district was blocked off to allow performers, vendors and pedestrians to move in patterns of curious celebration. She watched the dragon and lion dancers for a moment, a conflicted look crossing her face as she considered the many errands she had to do. A small detour wouldn’t hurt. Besides, if she took this street she could still cut around to the Salts ‘n Spices on the other side. As she stepped into the throng a young man with close-cut black hair handed her a soft red envelope. Perplexed she opened it and showed the young man the symbol on it.

He quickly explained it was the symbol of the Pig and she could receive a special handcrafted gift made by Una Vogue herself. Her blue eyes lit up in delight and surprise as she returned the symbol to the envelope. Michelle took a small sample of a blood orange champagne while following the directions to Renegade Regalia itself. Upon stepping through the doors she stood in awe at all the vibrant jewelry that was so artfully displayed. A young woman examined the symbol from her envelope and then presented a small black box for Michelle to take. As she wandered out of the store and down the street - tasting some Coconut Mochi on the way - Michelle carefully opened up the box.

Colleen, herself, had been born in the Year of the Tiger. Some might argue that fact, but over the years, she had learned to adapt to the cultural norms of many places and often hid who she really was. Bypassing the food until after a visit inside the shop, she was looking over charms to add to the bracelets of two of March's birthday girls. She chose a pair of charms for each, dogs to represent their birth year and delicately crafted dragons. Collie chatted with people in the shop as she added two more charms, Chinese lanterns, to her purchases. Afterward, she went outside to enjoy the tasty food treats and watch the lion and dragon dancers performance. It reminded her of Chinatown in San Francisco, many many years ago.

Jewell didn’t miss a chance to pop out of the house for a little while (after playing nurse to Sapphire for the last three weeks) and head down the street to do a little browsing and celebrating.

While red certainly wasn’t the faerie’s best color--not with that true blue hair she was rocking--she couldn’t resist at least one purchase. The interesting heart shape of the design amused her, reminding her of what she had survived the last two years.

She stayed to mingle a bit, talking with the artists and designers and indulging in some champagne outside.

They had seen a poster advertising the Lunar New Year event at Renegade Regalia on a Sunday morning trip to Radical Ray’s coffee shop (where Mina did not spill her coffee on Luka but she did suffer from several dirty looks sent her way by the blonde barista) and Mina had questioned him about it the whole walk home until it was finally decided that they would go on Tuesday and see for themselves. She even got a new, red tulle midi skirt to wear.

They walked around the street enjoying the dancers and dragons, sipping blood orange champagne while Luka explained some of the traditions to her. They did venture inside Renegade Regalia Inc. at some point, where Mina was happy enough to just look at everything without any intent of actually purchasing anything even though she came back several times to admire a pretty hair comb that had a touch of red for the New Year and the right shade of blue to compliment her eyes.

Eventually, there was a whispered argument over the comb. The ever practical Mina repeatedly reassured him that she didn’t need it (“Because it’s a frivolous purchase, Luka!”), but her insistence only seemed to make Luka more determined to purchase it for her. In the end, Luka triumphed and had the satisfaction of watching her twist her hair and put it up with the comb on the spot.
