Challenge for Old Market
::A pair of letters was left on the steps of two Baronial Manses: the first was signed and stamped as an official challenge to Old Market -- the second, a more personal and unstamped letter, was left for the Baron of the Old Temple District.::
-------
Baroness Lirssa al Amat,
Now is when you must stand in defense of the choices you have made and the offenses you have laid upon the steps of the Overlord's Keep.
Prepare yourself, for I have come to take your undeserved seat on the council; you are challenged.
Sincerely,
Nuy
--------
Baron Aric Delevingne,
After pondering my course late into the eve, I have the following to say to you. You have offended the Overlord, Empress Jewell. You have betrayed her trust in you, and have even issued a pitiful challenge to her. Did you think that your base actions would come without consequence?
And yet ... it is your beloved and accomplice who will feel the righteous sting of that consequence first, Baron, as I take Old Market from her unworthy hands. Know that she will lose her title due to your actions.
If I have one regret, it is that I cannot challenge you both at once.
Sincerely,
Nuy

Baroness,
If you no longer wish to hold your title, please, I encourage you to step down now so that I might use my challenge grant to also strip Baron Delevingne of his rank and bring some modicum of dignity back to the sport.
If, instead, your words are sarcastic in nature, please know this:
It is my intention to mercilessly thrash you in the ring. If you dislike being embarrassed, you will truly hate fighting me.
Sincerely,
Nuy

(It appears the challenge has been made public so please, allow me to respond.)
There is SO.MUCH. salt in this challenge. It's like Nuy needs this habitat to be as salty as the one he came from.
And Anubis, really? You're here on this challenge too? I guess you only have a problem with Baroness al Amat's WoL record, which I'll have you know is better then Nyu's right now. Where is your outrage over Nuy and his AH-MAZING 1-1 WoL record? Will we hear from you if he indeed wins? Will you be stepping up to take away his barony since by your standards he's so unworthy?
I hope you and Nuy both choke on a bag of ****s. Wouldn't that be fitting. Maybe you two can meet up in the locker room for a little pre-challenge go-down.

Sabine,
I am merely the Overlady's instrument in ridding herself of treacherous title holders who have done little to prove themselves worthy despite the relative ease and longevity of their reigns. To compare me to those title holders because of our records is an over-simplification on your part, if an understandable one based on your limited knowledge.
When I take the Barony, I promise clearly to prove myself with a Warlord-worthy record within two weeks of my victory, or I shall resign the title so that it might be offered up in a tournament of worthy fighters.
Why? Because I believe in proving yourself by the blade, and not just the tongue. Perhaps you rush too quickly to judge, and save the soft side of your hand for those who are too weak for the rough.
Sincerely,
Nuy

worthy
adjective
1. having or showing the qualities or abilities that merit recognition in a specified way.
What I call worthy...
Testing for Overlord Matt Simon and shutting Rakeesh Sah Tarna's bid for overlord down with a beautiful shut out.
Winning a barony from a baron with 3 title defenses and several successful Right to Challenge performances despite having no rank.
Defending her barony on her own without a test from the Overlord despite her loyal status at the time.
Defending Vincent Smith's right to fight Rachael Blackthorne just last night.
When you do the same, then you can speak of who is worthy. Until then, who the hell are you again?

Nyu,
Ew. Have fun with being someone's instrument.
Did you want a cookie and a pat on the back for your selfless exclamations regarding your intentions?
You won't get them from me.
Maybe some people think a great WoL record and blind loyalty is what it takes to make this a great sport. I however find it ridiculous and a mockery of the sport that you'd accept the Overlady's challenge grant with the intention of giving up your Barony if you can't make your WoL record in two weeks.
As Claire pointed out, Baroness al Amat has more than proved herself "by the blade" and is rarely one to run off at the mouth... Too bad Lirssa spanked the Overlady last night. I guess that wasn't proof enough?
Let's be honest, this has nothing to do with the sport anymore or Loyal or Renegade barons. As the days go on it's clear that there is a personal vendetta against Baroness al Amat and Baron Delevingne.
I'm sad to see the sport treated like a game of High School.
Instead of focusing on your record in the coming weeks, why don't you instead grow a pair. Or do you like the feeling of the Overlady's stiletto digging into your ass?
Underestimate my knowledge and soft hands again you twunt.

Self-indulgent outrage. Okay, guy. You insulted someone you clearly didn't even bother to read up on and tried to question her merits when you have none yourself. Someone's definitely ignorant here but it's neither myself nor Miss Gabrielle.
Good luck tomorrow, you're going to need it.

MEMO
April 9, 2017
To the Distinguished Duelists of the Arena,
On behalf of The Empress Overlady, Jewell Ravenlock, please let me extend a wish for good luck to both Lirssa al Almat, Baroness of Old Market, and Mister Nuy, recipient of the Spring 2017 Overlord Grant.
In the interest of transparency, let it be known that Nuy received the grant upon petitioning the Overlord directly for it. The grant was given on the condition that he would challenge a renegade baron and remain loyal to Jewell for the duration of her reign. There were no other stipulations.
As a specific baron was neither named nor discussed, the challenge scheduled to take place tomorrow evening is unrelated to any ill will between the Overlady and the Barons of Old Market and Old Temple. While Nuy's loyalty to and defense of the Overlady is appreciated, it was not prearranged, orchestrated, or requested by the Overlady. Moreover, The Overlady has never expressed any doubt that Baroness al Almat is a worthy duelist who has shown her skill in the ring numerous times, including against the Overlady herself last night.
It should also be noted, for the Baroness of Battlefield Park's benefit, that the Overlady would never sully a pair of her high heels by sticking them up anyone's behind!

It's not the fault of the Baroness that the Warlords at large in this sport are lazy and don't challenge. She's done more than enough, as Claire pointed out, to say she's worthy of the title.I am merely the Overlady's instrument in ridding herself of treacherous title holders who have done little to prove themselves worthy despite the relative ease and longevity of their reigns.
Also Anubis is back at it again with nothing but posting words and no action. Guess the lazy Warlord theme fits the bill.
