New Haven Summer Celebration

[Hope]

You're invited to the New Haven Summer Celebration!

In order to celebrate Hope's defense against Anubis she is throwing a party to commemorate the occasion and you plus everyone you know are invited! The party will take place on Sunday the 21st from Noon until... we'll see!






Afternoon Festivities
The party is located at the New Haven Manor which boasts a breathtaking view of the lush green that surrounds the Manor on its tree-lined perimeter. It's antiquated charm has not been marred over the passing of time and its acres of green will serve host to the events that will be carried on throughout the day.

Multiple Cornhole boards will be setup throughout the yard with Drinking Required signs beside them(drinking not actually required)


You cannot miss the boss ass slip 'n slide


You better draft a good team for water polo or else

Evening Festivities
Once the sun begins to set the Manor and the theme of the celebration will morph. With the aid from the Keeper of Fire, Jesse(don't say it two more times!) the Manor itself and the grounds will magically transform to allow the party and debauchery to extend into the night! All changes to the appearance and in contents will be temporary and will be reverted back in the morning.

If you thought you knew the Manor you're in for a treat when the night rolls around


Every room will be lit and re-purposed for the evening entertainment


Dining halls will remain inside with catered meals


Countless bars will be arranged throughout the new labyrinth of the night time manor


Vibrant drinks will be available throughout the night to match the setting


Sunset will mark the most extravagant transformation as Jesse will terramorph the grassy estate into a beach for all of the partygoers

Party Gifts & Lottery

Attendees will be given their choice of either a rubber ducky or a martini glass to remember the party.

The Lottery will consist of the following prizes and to be entered one must successfully push another attendee into the pool:

1. A life-size ice sculpture of Matt Simon


2. A mystery gift! What's inside?! Who knows!


3. An aged bottle of Cognac Hope found while cleaning the manor!


4. A real ship in a bottle!(don't ask don't tell!)

((OOC: Whew you made it! So there you have it, party at the New Haven Manor and you and literally everyone in Rhy'Din is invited. This is meant to be a Gatsby shindig with an anything goes party rules except you have to be respectful to the other goers! This is a board only event but I encourage any who take part to play out anything in the chats and to have fun with it. You can take whatever liberties with it that you want, if your character wants to enter the party riding their yacht through the beach at sunset or just stop in for a sausage, it's all welcome. The manor will revert to how it was the next day so no damages will be permanent. If you'd like either of the icons please just mention a specific time of day that you'll be visiting at and if you'd like to be counted in the lottery just make sure to mention who you're pushing in the pool! Anything from a polyvore to as many paragraphs as you like would be amazing. All icons and lottery prizes will be distributed on the RDI side. Hope was being the best hostess ever and enjoyed the pool while taking part in all of the activities ever.

[Claire Gallows]

There from shortly after noon onwards, Claire was more than ready for a party. With a drink in hand, she was sure to shove Cooper into the pool (hopefully without getting dragged in with him, because that'd be alcohol abuse) and from there it was an afternoon of slip'n'slide, water polo, and copious amounts of alcohol. A rubber ducky was pilfered on her way out.

[Addie]

Despite all of the pretty, colorful drinks, Addie stuck to water in every sense of the word. Knowing that it took a good shove in the pool to get entered into the lottery, pretty much everyone was fair game. Michi and Misery were both likely targets but failing that, she was unabashed about trying to push anyone on the pool's edge in. Maybe even the hostess too! After that, she spent the rest of the day lounging in the pool or wandering the palatial New Haven manor.


No shoes, because who needs shoes anyways.

Jewell arrived alone with four intentions:

• 1) Soak up as much sun as possible
  2) Drink
  3) Ogle the men folk (and maybe get some of them to apply lotion for her!)
  4) Push as many people into the pool as possible

Her first victim was Lirssa. With an orange, frosty drink in hand (it matched the ridiculous high heels and cover up she had abandoned pool side rather quickly), The Empress lulled her young friend into a false sense of security via conversation. Knowing Lirssa was not easy to throw off balance, the faerie resorted to trickery. Jewell pretended someone bumped into her, "accidentally" shoved Lirssa as a result, made as if to steady her, and then used her steadying hand to push her into the water.

Before the day was done, she would make sure to take a ride on the slip n' slide ("I don't understand but it looks fun!") and engage in at least one round of water polo. Who wouldn't want a faerie whose element was water to be on their team?

[Lirssa Sarengrave]

Accident. Right, Empress. When going into a fall, it was a natural instinct to tuck and roll. This made it look like a bit of a side flip when Lirssa headed into the water.

With a few other pushes happening, it became clear there was a game afoot. Lirssa made it her goal of the day to be the target for as many people as possible. Each time she was pushed in, she would try another acrobatic trick. It all depended on the type of shove she got and where her center of gravity was going. Sometimes she could do a twist, other times a flip, and sometimes she just allowed herself to flail and flop.

[Bailey Raptis]

With Hydra going on later that evening, Bailey couldn't stay at the party long or partake in any of the alcoholic beverages, but he did his fair share of afternoon swimming and ate more than his fair share of wings. He also brought the New Haven squire weapon along, and any one who wanted to hold it (and be insulted by a sentient, talking rapier) was welcome to do so.

[Cory Sommers]

He wouldn't do much pushing into the pool, had he tried it would likely end up with Cory in the water. It's a good thing he brought two beach towels to the party.

[Eden Parker]

Eden was super excited to be at the party with Cory! But when it came time to throw someone in the pool, she had a different target in mind, making a serious effort to throw Aric in the water, taking a run at him every time he approached the edge, even if she had to sacrifice herself in the process.

Addie was the one who caught her though, coming a little too near the edge of the pool and then paying for it when Addie helped her into the water. As soon as she started to fall, she reached out to grab Cory and took him with her, giving Addie a two-for-one. She surfaced giggling, of course, and then ran out of the pool, dragging Cory along as she headed over to Bailey so he would dry her shorts for her.

Eden stayed all day until it came time for dueling, then hurried over to watch Hydra duels before returning for another free meal and more fun!

[Rena A Cronin]

Rena showed up...for a bit or maybe longer about an hour before sunset...with a box under her arm, which she left in the manor before joining the celebration.

[Sabine]

Sabine and Josiah would show up at some point. Although Sabine is not a great swimmer, she felt some sort of obligation to at least make an appearance and thank Hope for putting the event together. Ulterior motives were of course happening, like her wanting to scout out what the New Haven barony had to offer for future reference.

Since Sabine is not a strong swimmer, she stayed away from the water for the most part and would only approach it if Josiah was with her. This means she did not attempt to throw anyone in out of fear of retaliation.

If anyone did throw her in, certainly Josiah was in a moment later to help her. Without a doubt, she sampled the food and drinks.

[Lisa Takamine]

“What? It’s a one-piece,” Lisa would proclaim to any and all gawkers as she prowled by them in her swimsuit. And when Nayun decided it was time to swim, there’d be a shrill and loud wolf whistle with barking laughter to follow at anyone else who stared.

Games were afoot throughout the day, and Lisa would push (anyone who wouldn’t give too much of a fight, with the exception of Nayun) and likely would be pushed in return, into the pool countless times. More than one of the pool floaties may have been accidently punctured by a claw, leaving Lisa to shape red lips in an O formation before a teasing tone of “Oops!” followed.

Saved from an extensive hangover by Nayun’s watchful eye of her alcohol intake, the pair could be seen wandering the beach to collect those shells for Nayun’s students.
