After some consideration I have come to the conclusion that I am simply too busy at this time to schedule coming into town for a duel.

Good luck to you in the future, and I believe this means that it will fall to Vael to defend the ring, or not.

Well this is an unfortunate turn of events....

7. If the Baron retires and is under challenge, the senior most baron shall be called upon to defend the title. If the senior most baron is successful in defending the vacant Barony, See Rule #6.

6. Should a Baron retire, the vacancy shall be placed:
a. As a prize in the next scheduled Warlord's Tournament or
b. In a tournament format decided by the Duel of Swords administration, depending on length of time until the next WLT.

Per the Baronial Rules of Challenge, it falls to Vaeluthil Whitevale to defend the Barony of Dragon's Gate. Should Jewell fail to overcome the Dragon's Gate Champion, the title goes to the August Warlord Tournament as a prize.

If, for whatever reason, Vaeluthil is unable to act as champion, the right of Champion will pass to the next most senior Baron, which at present is Lirssa Sarengrave.

The fierce Champion of Dragon's Gate (Vael!) and I will be meeting tomorrow (Thursday, July 7th at 9:30pm RST) to settle this little dilemma about who gets to hang out in Dragon's Gate.

The Anvil has agreed to officiate.
