A Very Blessed Beltane Tower of Air Tournament

[DUEL Claire]

Come one, come all! On Tuesday May 3rd, 2016, at 9:30 PM by the Eastern Clock, Twilight Isle will host a tournament for all ages and abilities to crown the next holder of the Tower of Air!

In line with the Beltane festivities, there will be plenty of food, drinks, and bonfires, all hosted by the Isle's fabulous goblins. More on that soon!

Here's the important (boring) stuff!

This will be a single elimination tournament so bring your A game! While there is no activity or rank requirement to enter, there are a few things to be mindful of. If you are not currently active and you win the Tower of Air, be sure to log an activity duel before the end of the cycle. If you're currently less than Sorcerer rank, no worries, you won't be asked to rank up in a set amount of time or anything like that. But just as a reminder, if a Keeper holds less than Sorcerer rank, they will not be afforded the standard grace period typically given to new title holders.

Format will be single elimination.

Seeding will be based on ROK for the current cycle. Anyone not on the current ROK rankings will be seeded below current ROK in order of sign up.

It's worked well, so we will adhere to a 5 minute casting limit each round in order to try and keep the tourney from running too late. Exceeding 5 minutes once will result in a friendly reminder from the caller. Anything after that will result in a mis-cast, meaning no spell was invoked and the opponent's spell scores for maximum damage. After a mis-cast, the duelist is still not allowed to use whatever spell they most recently used. That way the mis-cast does not serve as a type of disengage. In the case anyone needs more than 5 minutes for an urgent/special circumstance, please alert the caller, opponent, and the room so they they know you need a few minutes and will return asap.
