This is the event thread for the Warlord Tournament. Feel free to post any polyvores, pics, or anything related to the event and your character!
Entering the Arena is done normally, through the doors and down the stairs, except this time, lining the railings are several small tiki torches and where you would step onto the floor is what appears to be a shimmering magical curtain. Upon stepping through the curtain, you would immediately be greeted by the feeling of sand under your feet, the salty scent of the ocean, a gentle breeze and a wonderful view of a lush tropical beach.
Tiki torches light the path along the beach, leading towards where the event of the Warlord Tournament would be taking place.
Upon reaching the event area, a lovely islander woman is ready to greet you and present you with a lei for your neck, and for the women, a hibiscus flower to wear in their hair if they so choose.
Sections of the beach have been set aside for both participants in the tournament, as well as for the spectators. A grass hut bar is ready to take your orders for all manners of drinks you may want, though with the tropical theme, colorful beverages are the specialties. The tropical punch comes highly recommended, though it may or may not have a bit more kick than one would think.
For those who may be hungry, there are various snacks and treats available, pineapple and ham pizza, sushi rolls, kabobs and other delicious items. The lovely Gabby has also generously picked out some delicious cupcakes, including some with coconut encrusting the pineapple and cherry topped frosting, pina colada cupcakes, and tropical cupcake kabobs.
For the hungrier ones, there will be a pit where a full pig shall be roasted by two experienced islander men, ready to be carved and served to your liking, if you so choose.
After you've stacked your plate with all the delicious goodies, you are invited to take a seat at one of our large, comfortable tables where you can prepare to watch those experienced warlords who are showing off their skills in the quarterly Warlord Tournament in one of the several rings on the beach. However, if this is not something you want to partake in, then there will also be other entertainment, hula dancers and fire eaters are there to show you their talents, doing what it is they're best at.
For those who are here to judge the tournament and award points to the fighters, a lovely caller area has been set up, surrounded by more tiki torches and a comfortable couch set underneath a cloth canopy with a view of every ring.
Oh, and don't worry about that active volcano off in the distance. Not only is it far enough away to be harmless, it really is just for show.
Enjoy the tournament and our Duel of Swords Luau event!
