Duel of Swords Madness Finals Results!

Congratulations to the Half-Orc, Jake Thrash, for defeating Aurast Dagger Sasc,
5-3 in ten well fought rounds to win his first Madness Tournament!

Due to being a Baron, the option of the Old Market Barony is passed down to the
second place finisher. Thus, Jake Thrash is able to choose from two prizes:

1. (6) Six WoLs and one Intercession/Test free challenge grant for use against a
Baron of your choice (To be given away to a ranked duelist of his choice)
or..
2. (2)Two Intercession/Test free challenge grants for use against a Baron
of your choice(To be given away to a ranked duelist of his choice)

As Jake is a Baron, he would be unable to use any of the above grants on
his own, thus is able to award them to ranked duelists. The term "Ranked"
refers to a duelist listed on the standings as of the week the prize was won.
(I.E. appearing on the standings beginning Thurs. 4-17-14)

Congratulations to Aurast Dagger Sasc for achieving second place in this years
Madness Tournament, the first duelist to appear in back to back finals ever, and
the second duelist to reach the finals twice! Will he make it a third next
year? We'll see!

The Final Four participants who did not advance to the Finals will receive:

Should Aurast opt out of the Barony of Old Market, Mari and Mur will have a single duel
playoff match for that prize.

Any questions as to the prizes can be addressed to me directly. I do believe
I've got them worded fairly well, though. While I can't anticipate every
question, however, so there may be some that I can answer that are not
addressed here.

I forgot to mention in the previous post, the winners of the grant have (7) seven days(Starting from this post) in which to distribute their grants. Those who are awarded the grants then have (7) days to issue their challenge to the Baron they choose.

It has been over a day since Aurast accepted the barony of Old Market.

Per the rules, "new Barons must proclaim their alignment upon accepting the ring. If not it is at the discretion of the Overlord."

If Aurast has proclaimed his alignment in private either to G or to Apple, I would ask that they do me the courtesy of announcing such alignment here in this thread.

If Aurast has not proclaimed his alignment, then I ask that he do so here in the thread that announces his acceptance of the barony.

If Aurast chooses not to proclaim alignment to the Overlord, then I will align him myself on Monday evening.

Barons

1. Each Baron shall receive a ring as a symbol of their station and are considered equal in title.
2. Barons can either be aligned with the Overlord or not and respectively titled Loyal or Renegade.
3. New Barons must proclaim their alignment upon accepting the ring. If not it is at the discretion of the Overlord.
4. When an Overlord is dethroned all Barons must declare alignment within one week, to the Standings Keeper, or their alignment is set by the new Overlord.
5. When a Baron is unseated they are placed in the ranks, from commoner to Warlord, based on their current record.
6. Should a Baron retire, the vacancy is placed as a prize in the next scheduled Warlord's Tournament. If the Baron is under challenge, then the matter is sent to the Baronial Council, who will decide the fate of the title.
7. May choose to fight a challenge in a Best of Three format. The Challenger may NOT refuse the Best of Three format offered by a Baron. However, if the Overlord intercedes on behalf of a Loyal Baron, the Best of Three format may not be used.

I apologize to you and everyone for my lack of responsibility shown in recent days. I thought I had taken care of what was expected of me before I took to the booze and celebrating--my first barony and being able to shave this ridiculous Madness mustache being grounds enough for rejoicing--but I overlooked the most obvious of which was my alignment. How foolish of me, but I trust you'll forgive me, having seen firsthand my affection for alcohol following our jovial outing in Lilly Hyde's company.

I hope I have not worried you in any way in regards to my alignment. I had stated two weeks ago on my stream and before my match with Mari that I would be loyal to the Overlord. My stance has not changed in two weeks, nor do I see it changing in foreseeable ones. And so, I do officially declare my loyalty to the Overlord.

I ask for everyone's patience in coming weeks. I'm still very new to the policies, but I like to believe I am a quick learner. I hope to be a good representative of those who have held Old Market before me, yourself included, Overlady, as well as be more of a presence than I have been in recent years.

Each overlord has their own ideal of what an Overlord should be and do.

My ideal Overlord is one that serves the loyal barons on the council. As such, if you wish it, and the powers that be cease circumventing the rules as written for the loyal barons, my blade is yours.

After consideration, I've elected to distribute my grants as follows:

The first goes to my buddy, Napoleon.

The second will go to Kruger, if he's interested in using it.

The news camera's weren't new exactly, though he hadn't expected them to be waiting outside the forge. Nor had he expected the question that was first on the list. "Wait... who gave me what?"

He listened more closely to the person holding the mic in front of him. "So you're saying that Jake has offered The Anvil a challenge grant? The Anvil isn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Let the Barons look on this form and know fear!" There is a significant amount of posing going on.

The final question from them was no shock. "If you really want to know who The Anvil is going to challenge... It's... going to be announced in the proper way. Keep your eyes and ears peeled. Thanks Jake this should be almost as much fun as the time I chopped down a tree with a hornets nest in the branches."
