I was given the honor and privilege of calling the match for the barony of New Haven!

Jake dueled under a flag of blood red - scary half-orc that he is - and Rena chose a multicolored flag which represented all the various dueling teams she has been on during her long dueling career. Jaycy was Jake's Lady of Honor, while Napoleon was his Second; Rena named G'nort her Second, and both Napoleon and Trixie, Dread Pixie were her Persons of Honor.

The Baron chose a single duel format to decide New Haven's fate:

New Haven 1! The combatants start out strongly, and aggressively, each cutting low! Their blades clash, however, and neither scores a point! (LC/LC) 0-0
New Haven 2! Rena rushes forth, using her staff in a brutal-looking lunge; Jake, however, does not wish to be poked, it would appear! (FSS/TH) 1-0 Jake
New Haven 3! Jake returns to aggression, swinging his sword low - Rena's parry, a masterful display, is a bit too high to defend from it! (LC/FLP) 2-0 Jake
New Haven 4! Rena shows off her excellent footwork, but Jake's reversal cannot be dodged that way! (HC/FSS) 3-0 Jake
New Haven 5! Jake strikes low, and manages to connect, but Rena gets on the board with a solid high swing! Points for each! (LC/HC) 4-1 Jake
New Haven 6! For such a large fellow, Jake sure can move! But, as Rena is bracing for a more direct attack, neither combatant scores this round! (FSS/SH) 4-1 Jake
New Haven 7! Both of these fine duelers decide it's not time to attack, but instead time to cool down! No points in this breezy round. (FCP/FCP) 4-1 Jake
New Haven 8! After their sojourn into defense, both Rena and Jake decide it's time to throw caution to the wind and lunge forth! Points for each, but the win goes to the Baron! (TH/TH) 5-2 Jake

And so, in eight rounds did Jake Thrash defend his right to hold the New Haven barony! Well won, Jake, and well tried, Rena!

Also, Napoleon got a spectator point for being in the entourage of both challenger, and challenged!
