IFL - PowerHouse Party

I've gotten a few questions about the PowerHouse Party this week, so I wanted to throw out some details. I'll post further updates to this thread as the week 7 matches conclude, but please feel free to ask questions if you have them.

The tournament will be 16 person single elimination and held on Thursday Jan. 23rd beginning at 9pm.

The tourney is for the top fighters in the league, based on regular season performance, but with the caveat that all teams are allotted one representative. (eg: Team Dirty has noone in the top 16 on the leader board, but they still get a slot, so Khoom will be invited as the team top pdpb which could in turn revoke someone else's invitation).

ALSO - This is a one character per player event. After week 7 concludes I'll start reaching out to people I know who have 2 in the invite list to find out who they want to play. We will then remove the second and continue down the leader board to fill empty slots. Anyone unable to make the date should let me know as well so their slots can be filled too.

In the event of no-shows, I'd love for the next couple people on the list to be in attendance so we can pull them in and avoid giving any byes.

Seeding will be first by team regular season standing and secondly by the character's spot on the leader board. This lessens the risk of two fights from the same team facing each other early in the tournament. It does not eliminate the risk, but it's as good as we're going to get (though I am willing to juggle slightly if the 8 and 9 seeds are from the same team to avoid having them fight in the first round). Remember this is for an individual accolade, not a team one. As such, I would prefer to avoid the havoc that surrounded the Hydra tournament.

One small change to the way invites will work for the Powerhouse Party. It is still a 1 character per person affair, but I'm removing the choice of which character you play and instead it will default to the higher ranked character getting the invite. This makes it easier for me to sort through who gets invited as well as serves the ultimate purpose of the tournament to be the gathering of the top fighters in the league.

With that in mind, here is the current list of invitees minus the duplicates I know about (if you're in here twice, please send me a note to remove the lower ranked entry) and a couple people I've already been informed won't be available.

If a lot of people can't make the date we'll look at changing it. Please let me know. Or if you can't make it for any other reason let me know. I'll want to juggle some invites to make sure we get a full field. StandIns should let me know as well so that I can adjust that list.

The night of the tournament we will wait 10 minutes for people to arrive. After that I will begin pulling people in from the standby list, or really, anyone from the league that happens to be in the room at the time. If you show at 15 after, please don't ask to join. You'll have already missed the cutoff and I will be re-ranking.

In other news .. I'd be glad to have any offers of help. 8 fights in the first round, so if I could split that up between multiple people that would be cool, even if you're also fighting in the tourney (which I am myself).
