DoF All-Time Madness Tournament 2.0--Nominations!
As you all know(based on the huge number of posts on the subject), it is the 20th anniversary of the Duel of Fists this year. And, at both Matt Simonplayer's request and my own desire, I'm reviving something that I slacked off on. In 2010, I did a All-Time DoS Fantasy Madness. Two years later, I started the process on a Fists version, but for various reasons...it never got off the ground. Well, now it's being revived. The first round of the tournament will kick off on Nov. 21, 2013, the 20th anniversary of DoF.
For those who are unfamiliar, I'll give you the basics:
1. Players post, on the OOC boards, three nominees for a 64-duelist fantasy tournament structured like DoS Madness(which is itself structured like the NCAA Championship). Nominees are not guaranteed entrance; I have final say. You may NOT nominate your own character. Due to the fact that this is an OOC tournament, and that therefore there is no conflict-of-interest, there is no limit on the number of characters played by any one player. While this isn't a rule, try to A: Post players that have achieved actual dueling accomplishments, not "fun characters"(after all, no one's going to be seeing them RPing anyhow), and B: Remember characters throughout the breadth of DoF history; after all, this is in part to celebrate Fists history. Nominations run until we get 64, or until roughly the second week of Novermber. And they start.....tonight. Right now.
2. After nominations are recieved, I(and possibly someone helping me, like Harrisplayer did in the aborted original version of this) will rank all 64 players according a point system based after a variety of DoF and IFL accomplishments. They will then be seeded according to those rankings; i.e, numbers 1 through 4 are 1st seeds, numbers 5 through 8 are 2nd seeds, and so on.
3. Tournament matches are decided like by poll voting on the post, which will also include historical and other information about the characters. There will be four options:
Duelist A wins, 2-0 in a Best of Three
Duelist A wins, 2-1 in a Best of Three
Duelist B wins, 2-0 in a Best of Three
Duelist B wins, 2-1 in a Best of Three.
This is in case you feel that one duelist would win, but the other has a good chance to win as well andwould do some damage...or if you think it would be a blowout. The winner is the duelist with the most votes in both 2-0 and 2-1 Best of Threes; Whether or not it is a 2-0 or 2-1 depends on which option has the most votes.
Have fun! Nominations start...now!

*It was pointed out to me that the person I had nominated was not who I thought they were. I removed my second one for now.

For anyone who wants to refer back to the 2012 names-list, click here.
It might refresh memories on some of the 'old-school' names deserving of nomination.
