I've had an idea that's been pitched to me by some other people which I think has merit. For those who don't know, I am the player of Anubis Karos, as wellas this character, Gaius of the Cassii, or Cassius Maximius. I'm noticing a lot of floaters here, and since I ran a team for several years in TDL(in addition to running GoS as Anubis in IFL). I've decided to shelve Anubis for this season(with the exception of making him an FA) and bring this char. out of mothballs...and I'd like to form a team. I was curious if any of you were interested. Either Email me at cassiusmaxim@aol.com or message me here if you are interested.

So we have 5 teams registered so far.
I have some questions.
First, aside from Cas and I think COM, is there anyone else looking to field a team? We had 8 teams for Hydra, and IFL is less time-intensive than Hydra. Right now I think we're at 7?
Second, IFL Bossman, how many teams would make up the perfect league, scheduling wise?
I mostly ask because I'm nosey and excited to see this come together
But also, I don't want my alt to take up a slot on a team that might leave out someone who hasn't had the pleasure of playing in IFL before. Preference for new faces!!! But I also don't want an odd team left out or have an 8th team struggling to find teammates.

May as well just do this:
Here's the current list of characters looking for a team who, as far as I know, haven't signed on with anyone yet:
Kruger Allen
Brian Ravenlock
Chris Graziano
10/9: Edited to remove the folks who joined onto Cas' team.

No easy answer for that. The 2006 season ran with 8 teams, the 2007 season with 10. We have 5 now and I think a 5 team league could work, though that doesn't mean we can't handle more. 13 and 17 are bad numbers and won't work. Just about any other value we can make work by adjusting the number of weeks in the season and, if necessary, splitting into divisions.Napoleon Bonarat wrote: Second, IFL Bossman, how many teams would make up the perfect league, scheduling wise?
eg: 9 teams could be an 8 week season where every team plays every other team once and we take the top 4 teams for the playoffs. Alternatively, we could have 3 divisions of 3 teams, run a 10 week season where you play everyone once and the teams in your division twice. Playoffs could still be 4 teams, with the top from each division and a wildcard bid to whatever the next highest ranked team across the league is.
TL;DR - There's no good answer for you. It'll work regardless except for a few bad numbers that don't split up well.

DRT and COM are the only Hydra teams stepping into IFL so far, which rather surprised me.
* CDR - with G apparently electing not to Captain, they're out.
* FON - No word from this crew, though I guess they were mostly DoM anyway?
* GOS - Captain switching to Cass and forming new. No sign of Xanth on a team yet.
* HYD - Team scattered to BAD, DRT and TMF, no sign of Sylus.
* SNL - Vinny picked up with TOP, no word on the others.
* TBD - Jake stole Candy for BAD, others seem to be sitting out or playing alts.
Lots of names from Hydra are out there still for anyone looking to form a team. Also, some folks who weren't in Hydra (eg: Teagan) might be persuadable.
