Unless the player in question specifies that their Signature is IC, then it is upon the viewing Audience to make that determination... Right or wrong.

You cannot leave the viewing audience to assume one thing and then berate them when they guess wrong.

The above quote is irrelevant to the topic. It's not about what someone is obligated to say about their own signature, whether or not it's up to them to tell everyone that the signature is IC or not.

It's about whether or not another Player gets to dictate what someone's signature is, when said signature is not their character.

Player A does not get to tell ME what MY signature is, whether or not it's IC or not. G's signature? It's IC.

It's about whether or not another Player gets to dictate what someone's signature is, when said signature is not their character.

Player A does not get to tell ME what MY signature is, whether or not it's IC or not. G's signature? It's IC.

All it takes is to ask and communicate to the other player in PMs "Is your signature IC or OOC?" That's it. A player shouldn't automatically dictate and tell the other what is and is not IC and OOC.

If I want to have a picture of a dog licking a lollipop as Jesses signature, it's in my right to say that it's her signature.

You know how you can determine if a sig is IC or OOC?

The same way you can determine if a post is IC or OOC without a sig.

By whether the post is in the IC area or the OOC area. It's really that simple.

It's not like we need to have separate user accounts: "Napoleon Bonarat" for IC posts and "Napoleon Bonarat's Player" for OOC posts.

Not really sure how a discussion on signatures came up, but yeah I always assume everything in the IC forum is considered IC unless it's clearly marked with parenthesis ((Enter OOC here )).

It came up because One Player told Another Player that their signature, and all signatures, were OOC.

Players dictating something about someone else's character is a No No.
