Challenge for water.

Post by Battin Roage »

Well from what information I have gathered. I do believe it has been a month since anyone has challenged for this tower. And since I have gained the needed WoL to at least attempt to challenge for a tower, I guess I will go for it.

Also, the only reason why the Tower of Water is because I like water, except for when it ruins my pastries, but I can deal with that.

I do believe this challenge is INVALID!

The duelist has only been active for 1 week of offical DoM activity! Week 1 is the 7th-12th, and this currently week is the 14th-19th. This one cannot challenge until the next standings come out for the 14th-19th. Or possibly until the 23rd depending on how Mr. Ghost defines 'two weeks'.

((I'll ask Lem about this, its either the 23rd or the next standings coming out, but the character needs to be active for 2 weeks, which Battin has not either way))

Challenger Roage,

In the future, I caution you to take more care in your challenges. Just because you can challenge after two duels and two wins does not mean that you ought.

Twice now, in recent weeks, my prospective challenge opponents have paid little heed to the processes of challenge. I realize that you are new to the rings but the lack of respect shown in your disregard of its rules is, at the very least, disappointing. Lem and the goblin may show leinency is not stripping your challenge rights for the remainder of the cycle. If they do, consider yourself lucky.

Since you appear to hold pastries in high regard and as they are, for whatever reason, a factor within your challenge attempt, take in to account the following before challenging again:

Water - Ruins, as you say, your pastries. It might be best to avoid placing yourself in the midst of an element that destroys something you enjoy and appreciate.

Fire - Provides heat within which you can bake new or warm your already-made pastries. Non-ruining.

Earth - Provides clay and stone you can then mold into kilns in which to bake many pastries. Non-ruining.

Air - Provides a stable environment in which to cultivate the building-blocks of pastries (grains, fruit-fillings and the like). Non-ruining.

Perhaps you should consider targeting another Tower the next time you decide to put forth a challenge.

Regardless, as this challenge is invalid, I do not accept it.

Matt. You suck. When I take your Opal I shall feast on your children and your childrens children.

I have received word from Mr. Ghost on the challenging rules!

The duelists must wait 14 days from the date of their first duel or reinstated duel, to challenge!

Mr. Ruse can challenge the earliest at or on April 23rd.

Keeper Matt,

If I may reply:

You stated that even though I 'can' Challenge, I shouldn't correct? Then what would the point be of challenging? I wished to challenge because I want to better myself in the sport.

And I never meant any dis-respect at all. I was ignorant of the rule in all aspects and if I may, I do apologize for that. I was as you might say "to quick to pull the trigger." Which is in all my fault .

And in all regards to pastries, they are just things that are meant for nourishment, It was simply a joke about myself.

But once again I do apologize for my ignorance, to both you, Mr. Simon, and to Lem and Goblin, and do wish that I may have the chance to challenge at a later date.

Sorry once again,

Anubis challenged 8 times before he finally got it right. Rakeesh couldn't be bothered to respond in an appropriate timeframe. Now this guy jumps the gun. Apparently you're a magnet for incompetent challengers, Matt. Regardless of the sport.

I think I can fix the problem though. You should hand this out to any potential challengers from this point forward.

THE HARRIS GUIDE ON HOW TO ISSUE AND ACCEPT CHALLENGES
1. READ THE RULES
2. Repeat step one ad infinitum.

You're welcome.

Just because you can leap off of the roof of the Rhydin Public Library does not mean you should. Similarly, just because you can challenge because you've won two of two duels does not mean you should.

The point of or reason for challenging differs from person to person. You want to get better? Then duel, practice, train and get better.

Challenging for or even winning a Tower does not mean you have or will improve your dueling skills. Like Opals, Towers are not playthings to be trifled with or sought merely because you think you feel like challenging.

In your challenge attempt, you state that you "guess [you] will go for it". Your words imply that you're leaping without looking; they imply you do not yet have a basic understanding of what you're challenging for and the responsibilities that go along with the station of Keeper should you find yourself victorious.

You've been a participant in the sport for less than two weeks; you've only fought two duels. Perhaps you should slow down and take the time to learn more about the Isle and its history, more about what you're challenging for, before you do so. Ignorance is, at times, forgivable. Willful irresponsibility? Much less so.

If I may come to some indifference here. Out of no dis-respect Matt, I challenged for fire as soon as I had the ability to do so. Yes it was after the two week period of waiting, but I was still very new to the duels when I did challenge.

Well I do believe it has been two weeks. I still wish to challenge for this tower regardless of what Mr. Simon says. I would hope that it is now valid to be challenged.
