Challenge for Old Market
::A gaunt sheaf of papyrus precariously hung from the pinnacle of a cheap dagger, the dull tincture which had been imbued by neglect upon the spear-point blade contrasting sharply with the brilliant manila of its hostage. The vulgar gait of an inebriated duelist would set the delicate missive into billowing like a sail harvesting the oceanic wind, revealing the transcript of the Terry King-Lem DeAngelo challenge beneath::
Lem DeAngelo,
You have always irritated me, much like a rash which one occurs from a night within the Golden Ivy Tavern. As of late, you have been incredibly lucky and I have been astonishingly unlucky, two trends which I hope to reverse in the bloodiest fashion possible. As it is now confirmed that demons roam the districts of Rhydin, Old Market must be represented by one who truly can quell this infection in his district, rather than a befuddled refugee from the black mark on the duels that is Twilight Isle.
Similarly, if the beast who warms my mantle for me manages to somehow have the temerity to attempt to register those who use the supernatural, who will best stand up for that segment of the population? One who has conversed with the most ancient of beings and was himself born beyond the ether? Or a confused old man who limits thaumaturgy to casting fogs that reek of Harris D'Artanian?
More than anything, I simply want a ring. The liontaur hides his quest for glory behind a noble facade; I do not, and I say that there is nothing wrong with this. This bloodsport exists as a vehicle for glory, a substitute for war. A casual duel and fond memories lubricated with ale..those things are for veterans such as the jowl-jawed antediluvian from the Welsh heather and the massive lizard that he has taken as lover. So long as I set foot in these rings, I will seek title and flesh. To do otherwise is to die while still breathing..a sensation which I will seek to impose upon you.

Demons? You mean the usual ones, I'm sure. The ones that have been around since, well, forever.
Unless you mean the demons from the bottle. In which case, they have meetings for those.
Good luck, Lem!

Is this the duel of words or the duel of swords? If there are demons running loose then Old Market needs a saver, not a slaver.
In short, I am going to thrash you Anubis.
March 29th at 10 EST. A caller would be most appreciated.

How about if I add "extremely evil demons who prey on innocent children and don't pay taxes running loose..."Lusatia wrote:I take offense to that comment.Lem DeAngelo wrote:Is this the duel of words or the duel of swords? Old man,
Who cares if he agrees? You are the Baron. Act like it. Lord over Anubis for a while. He certainly does it to everyone else when he has a ring.

P.S. Anubis, I consider myself a fine purveyor of trash talking challenge notifications but that was a yawner. I expect better. More zing, less need of a dictionary for translation.
