The Overlord has had seven days to respond and has failed to do so.
3. A challenge is not considered complete until the results are posted in the Standings. And where not specifically addressed all challenges must be answered within one week of validation (by the date and time the validation notice is sent out) and dueled within two weeks of the response. Any challenge not responded to within one week, setting a time and place, shall be considered an abdication.

I must apologize for being a matter of minutes late on accepting the good Baron Matt Simon's challenge for my mantle. It is merely that the tournament that I was running tonight took longer than I anticipated it taking. As I told the man, I have every intention on facing him in the ring, and was not being negligent.
It would seem a great shame to pin me with a triviality while I am out promoting our sport. As I have already stated, I am looking forward to facing Matt in the rings.
In my official words, I accept the challenge.
Whatever the Renegade Baron's Council may think of me, personally, I have earned my place to fight. We fight with blade, in the ring. Let that be where this ends.

Blah, blah, blah.
Tournament ran long, sorry I'm late. My bad! Oh, and don't down me cuz I'm promoting the sport!
Promoting the sport with his cronies.
Oh. And it ain't like he had a week or anything before this to accept or anything....
Dude's just so full of himself and his "amusements" he didn't think he hadda pay attention to the rules. He's just like idiot 'Nublet when it comes to challenges. Can't bother to pay attention to rules and then expect y'all to accept him saying "like it matters, I'm too important for those silly rules. Let me do it anyway."
"A matter of minutes late. My tournament ran late." Riiiiiiiight. You only wrote something out cuz you got called out.
Arrogant ass. Hope the council shuts this crap down like ya deserve.

This times a million. How's it taste, Lion-O? You promoted your little flunky tournament yet couldn't answer a simple challenge correctly.Ria Graziano wrote:Blah, blah, blah.

My intention was always, simply, to finish the tournament, award my Grant - and then accept the challenge. I've stated my case, already. It is in the Council's hands now.

You mean someone who follows the rules? You're not king of pride rock, son. You shouldn't get special favors. You had a whole week to respond but didn't. Just man up and say it's your fault for not following the rules.Rakeesh wrote:You cannot anger me, Seirichi. It is not worth your effort. The Grant is given and there is naught that can change that.
For the sake of one of the youth of this city, may your poison not seep into your unborn child. It deserves better than to end up as you have.

This isn't life or death. This isn't some sort of glorious fight on a battlefield. This is sports. Two guys going at it in the middle of the ring for others amusement. Don't make it out to be anything spectacular.
People may not like me. F**k. I KNOW they don't like me. And I don't really care since it's obvious jealousy by the lower ranks who feel they can't live up to the standards me and others have set. But you know one thing I hope we can universally agree on? The rules of the duels.
Follow them if you want to participate in them and don't make excuses.

Rakeesh,
As you should have learned by now, the road to hell is paved with good intentions that were never acted upon. Considering the negative sentiments that have been expressed toward you and some of your actions, you should have been prepared and acted before your tournament to accept the challenge, if for no other reason than things happen that are out of one's control. It would have been a better choice, perhaps, to notify all relevant parties concerned that the challenge was accepted, but that you wished duel after the tournament for the cyclic grant. Being that Baron Simon is generally not an unreasonable man, I doubt he would have declined that request.
Whether it is you or a champion that Baron Simon faces, I hope that he will still be given the chance at the tile of Overlord.
Ms. Vanderhildt is not, to my knowledge, a mindreader nor is she responsible for making allowances outside the rules of the sport to any participant regardless of their rank.
It is Kyra Jessup, the rumored winner of that tournament, who might suffer the consequences of your inaction. If the council determines that you were no longer Overlord as of the seven day marking then you were no longer eligible to give the grant.

I seriously feel bad for her. If she had to claw her way to the top of that tournament full of nobodies, Nappy excluded since he was most likely the strongest fighter that tournament had to offer, then she just got crazy cheated simply because this guy couldn't post a reply.PrlUnicorn wrote:It is Kyra Jessup, the rumored winner of that tournament, who might suffer the consequences of your inaction. Here, Rakeesh. Make a copy of this so you can pin it up to every single one of your challenges in the future and not make excuses.
I accept.

I have apologized for timing my acceptance incorrectly. I would certainly hope that the Council adhere to the spirit of sportsmanship and not strip Kyra Jessup of something that she has earned. I also hope that they will grant the extension to allow Matt and I to face each other in the ring for the Mantle. He wants this opportunity. I want him to have this opportunity.
There is the spirit of sportsmanship and dueling, and I believe that that is important. It is the middle of the night in this city, and we are disputing the difference of minutes from when my tournament ended and I put forth my acceptance.
Certainly, I wish that I had had the foresight to accept before the tournament that I hosted tonight, or to send someone with a letter while I was busy officiating during the tournament. But I did not, and yet, I still wish to face Matt Simon - and I've still worked very hard to get to where I am, despite many obstacles.
And so, I will not roll around in the dirt with you, Seirichi. I've made my case, apologized, and from here hope that the Council makes a just decision and grants us an extension. I will not write on it here again.
